MTS wins 8 circles in 800 MHz CDMA spectrum auction, to stop services in 3 more circles

Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) that nationally operates its telecom services under the MTS brand has announced that that have won spectrum in the 800 MHz band in eight circles including Delhi, Kolkata, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh (West) & West Bengal. Airtel launches new roaming pack for prepaid customers in Delhi

Airtel has launched a new roaming pack for their prepaid mobile customers in Delhi that would let them enjoy free incoming calls while roaming in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and West Bengal (except Kolkata). This pack costs Rs. 21, and offers free incoming calls for 30 days while roaming in any of these states. National roaming usually costs Re 1 per minute, this pack eliminates such charges, at least in these states when the pack is activated. Idea cellular has launched Zeal, their new Dual SIM Android smartphone with 3G support in affordable price range. It has 3.5 inch (320 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 2.3 ( Gingerbread) similar to the Idea Aurus that was launched last year. This phone is aimed at 3G data users in semi-urban and rural markets. It is powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor and comes with Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) support. Airtel to launch Voice services for 4G LTE customers in Pune


Airtel has announced that they would launch voice services for 4G TD-LTE customers in Pune soon, through its existing GSM network. Airtel is the only operator in India to combine voice with TD-LTE services through GSM network. Airtel launched their 4G LTE services in Pune last  October, followed by Kolkata and Bengaluru. Nokia Siemens Networks would deploy its Circuit Switched FallBack (CSFB) voice solution in the operator’s live TD-LTE network in Pune. Idea launches 3G Speed Booster plans for postpaid customers

Idea Cellular has launched new 3G speed booster plans for post-paid customers that would let them enjoy high-speed data throughout their billing cycle. These plans are aimed at high-end data users with unlimited and bill secure plans, so that they need not wait till the next billing cycle to get their original speed back, rather than being throttled to 128 Kbps after the data cap based on the plan. Nokia is still India’s Most Trusted Brand, according to a recent survey conducted by research firm Trust Research Advisory (TRA). Nokia retains the first position from the Brand Trust Report 2011 and the Brand Trust Report 2012. Even Airtel retains the same No. 9 spot in the rank list for 3rd consecutive year. The Brand Trust Report, India Study, 2013 is the third in its series and this year the report lists India’s 1100 Most Trusted Brands from 211 categories. Bharti Airtel and Nokia has launched a customized version of Nokia Xpress Browser for the Airtel customers with Nokia Asha and select Series 40 devices.  The Nokia Xpress browser usually comes pre-loaded on Asha phones, but the new co-branded version would offer the Airtel subscribers and enhanced experience, by providing them with one-click access to Airtel’s premium mobile internet services and easy discoverability of rich content on-the-go.
