Airtel has launched 3G services in Punjab. It rolled out 4G services in Chandigarh – Tricity last year and in Ludhiana in Punjab last week. It offers 2G, 3G and 4G services in these two areas in Punjab and it also offers 4G on mobile in Ludhiana. Airtel has announced that it would offer free access to new channels on its Pocket TV apps to watch the India election results. Powered by Airtel digital TV, the DTH service arm of the Bharti Airtel, Pocket TV offers 150 live TV channels, more than 10,000 hours of video content and over 13 channels it is available at an introductory price of Rs. 60 per month (deducted Airtel digital TV account). Airtel launches new WhatsApp data packs
WhatsApp is the current leader in the instant messaging app market with over 500 million monthly active users globally. In April WhatsApp CEO Jan Koum also touted that the service has over 48 million monthly active users in India.The cross platform app which was acquired by Facebook in February this year, has joined hands with Airtel to provide special data packs.

TDSAT allows 3G Intra-circle roaming pacts between Airtel, Vodafone and Idea
The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) today cleared the 3G intra-circle roaming agreements signed between Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular by saying that the 3G intra-circle-roaming (ICR) does not violate the Unified Access Service Licence (UASL) license, reports ET. It has also quashed all penalties imposed by the Department of Telecom (DoT) on these operators last year.

Airtel launches Night Store for unlimited on-net local calling and internet all night
Airtel has launched Night Store, new night packs that would let pre-paid users enjoy unlimited on-net (Airtel to Airtel) voice calls and 2G data. It also offers limited 3G data with select packs in 3G circles and free Facebook access. These packs are applicable between 12AM to 6AM and is valid for one night. SingTel Group, Samsung sign new partnership for retail collaboration, operator billing and more
SingTel Group has announced that they have partnered with Samsung aimed at driving next-generation mobile communication, infotainment and technology services. These SingTel Group of companies include, SingTel in Singapore, Optus in Australia, AIS in Thailand, Airtel in India and Africa, Globe Telecom in the Philippines and Telkomsel in Indonesia. LG partners with Airtel and Qualcomm to launch LTE experience zone in Bangalore
LG Electronics has partnered with Airtel and Qualcomm to set up LTE experience zone in Bangalore for customers to experience 4G LTE. Airtel introduced 4G on mobile first on iPhone 5c and 5s for customers in Bangalore last month. LG launched the 4G LTE variant of the L2 G2 in India earlier this month starting at Rs. 46,000. Airtel reaches 200 million mobile customers in India
Airtel has announced that it has crossed 200 million mobile subscriber mark in India. It is the largest mobile operator in India and fourth largest mobile operator in the world in terms of subscribers. It has 1.5 million outlets and serves 86.7% of the country’s population. It crossed 60 million mobile customer mark in 2008 and reached 100 mobile subscriber base in India in 2009. It took just 5 years for Airtel to add 100 million customers.
