The Indian PC market continued to record a strong growth of 73.1% YoY during the first quarter of 2021, shipping about 3.1 million units in total. Among the many devices, notebooks remained at the top in terms of market share, with a 116.7% YoY growth. Overall, the market was led by HP, Dell, Lenovo, Acer, Apple and ASUS.

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand just launched Redmi Watch, the company’s latest budget smartwatch in India, as it had promised. It has a 1.4-inch touch color LCD screen, 200+ watch faces, 24-hour heart rate monitoring, 50-meter (5 ATM) water resistance so that you can also take it for swimming. Xiaomi just launched the Redmi Note 10S, the company’s latest mid-range Redmi smartphone in India as it had promised. It comes with a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with up to 1100 nits brightness, 60Hz refresh rate, 120Hz touch sampling rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Inside the 3.54mm punch-hole there is a 13-megapixel camera. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio G95 with 6GB of RAM, dual layer graphite sheet and runs Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 out of the box, but the company says that this is the interim version and a full version with all the features including option to uninstall system apps will be added via OTA update. The market observed shipment numbers at 38 million units in total, and the top 5 manufacturers were Xiaomi, Samsung, Vivo, OPPO and realme.
