Xolo partners with AMD for its first 10.1″ Windows 8 tablet – Xolo Win

Xolo, the Indian company known for its range of low cost smartphones, has just unveiled its first Windows 8 tablet at CES 2014 – the Xolo Win, powered by the AMD A4 Elite mobility processor. This is a first for XOLO as well as AMD, as this is the first Windows tablet for the former while it is the first APU-powered tablet for the latter. Sporting a 10.1″ inch screen with a 1366×768 resolution, the mid range tablet will take on the likes of the first generation Surface with similar specifications, but with full Windows 8 functionality. It will have 2 GB of RAM, rear and front facing cameras and a battery that supposedly lasts up to 7 hours. The Xolo Win is slated to be released in the Indian market by the end of January 2014.

Xolo becomes official mobile handset partner of Liverpool FC across Indian sub-continent

Xolo has inked three-season exclusive partnership detal with Liverpool Football Club to become the official regional marketing Partner for India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh. With this, the company becomes the official mobile handset partner of Liverpool FC across the Indian sub-continent until May 2016. Broadcom, a company that powers most of the WiFiac chips inside smartphones these days had been very quiet in the SoC business, but they had recently announced new chips and a partnership with Xolo for their Quad Core low end chip. The fruition of that partnership is the Xolo Q1000 Opus, yet another Q1000 that looks and performs nothing like the other one. This low-mid range device, that launched to retail in December last year, is priced at Rs. 9,990 and has modest specifications to rival the competition in the same segment. We have got this phone for testing in our labs, so as a first order of business, here is our unboxing with a quick look at the hardware and an overview of the minimally modified software –

Xolo has officially launched the Xolo Q3000, the company’s latest flagship smartphone.  It comes with a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display, powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash, BSI 2 sensor, 1080p video recording and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a BSI sensor. It comes with 2GB RAM and a 4000 mAh battery. It  went on pre-order online last week and went on sale online earlier today.

NVIDIA Tegra Note tablets including Xolo Play Tegra Note gets Android 4.3 update

NVIDIA has started rolling out Android 4.3 over-the-air (OTA) update for the Tegra NOTE 7 tablet that adds new features and capabilities. The company has also said that the tablet from OEMs including XOLO would get the new update. Nvidia already announced that they would push out OTA update for the tablets directly, even though it is sold by different vendors globally. This update adds new features including improvements in stylus experience, help option for DirectStylus,  high-dynamic range (AOHDR) capability in camera and more. AOHDR utilizes Tegra 4’s processing power and Chimera computational photography architecture that we saw at the Tegra 4 launch. It t was spotted online last week and has a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS Display based on One Glass Solution (OGS) with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with Adreno 225 GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Xolo launched the Q2000 with a 5.5-inch HD screen, now the Q3000 with a 5.7-inch Full HD screen has been spotted on Flipkart. It has a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display, powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash, BSI 2 sensor, 1080p video recording  and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a BSI sensor similar to the Q1000S. Xolo Play Tegra Note officially launched for Rs. 17999

Xolo has officially launched the Xolo Play Tegra Note, the company’s first Tegra 4-powered tablet in India officially, as it promised last week. It was announced back in September as NVIDIA Tegra Note and went on pre-order through online retail stores in India last week. It packs a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display with support for NVIDIA DirectStylus technology and also comes with a stylus pen. It is powered by a 1.8 GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 CPU with 72 Core NVIDIA GeForce GPU and runs Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It would get OTA updates directly from NVIDIA. The Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) would be available sometime in Q1 2014. It has dual front-facing speakers, Bass reflex port for better clarity and extended frequency range up to 12kHz.

Xolo Q1000 Opus that went on pre-order in India online recently, is now available from online retailer Infibeam. It comes with a 5-inch (854 ×480 pixels) FWVGA capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Broadcom (BCM23550) processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor, LED flash and 720p HD video recording and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby.
