Qualcomm today at the CES 2017 detailed its flagship Snapdragon 835 processor, first processor based on 10nm FinFET process technology. “It is 35% smaller and uses 25% less power than previous designs, and is engineered to deliver exceptionally long battery life, lifelike VR and AR experiences, cutting-edge camera capabilities and Gigabit Class download speeds,” said Qualcomm. It has multi-gigabit 802.11ad, and integrated
2×2 802.11ac Wi-Fi with MU-MIMO.

Qualcomm today announced  commercial sampling and conducted a live demonstration of Centriq 2400, which is the world’s first 10nm server processor. The Qualcomm Centriq 2400 series has up to 48-cores, is built on the 10nm FinFET process technology and features the Qualcomm Falkor CPU. “It has Qualcomm Datacenter Technologies’ custom ARMv8-compliant core, which is highly optimized to deliver both high performance and power efficiency, and designed to tackle the most common datacenter workloads,” said the company. It did not reveal any details apart from support for Quick Charge 4.0 that, which supports 20% faster charging than Quick Charge 3.0. Qualcomm revenue up 13% YoY, net income up 51% YoY in Q4 FY16, 211 million chips shipped

Qualcomm has reported revenue for fourth financial quarter and year that ended September 25, 2016. It has reported revenue of $6.2 billion, which is up 13% compared to the same quarter last year and non-GAAP earnings per share of $1.28 for the quarter, beating the average analyst estimate of $1.22. Total revenue for the fiscal year is 23.6 billion, which is up 7% compared to last year. Operating income was 1.8 billion, up 58% YoY and net income was $1.6 billion, up to 51% YoY. The Snapdragon 653 is the successor of Snapdragon 652 offering 10% improved performance compared to the predecessor, Snapdragon 626 is the successor of Snapdragon 625, offering 10% improved performance compared to the predecessor and the Snapdragon 427 is new processor in the 400 series, which is an upgrade to Snapdragon 425. All these have Integrated Snapdragon X9 LTE modem for 50% faster upload speeds than the X8 LTE, Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology and Dual camera support.
