The year 2013 saw the rise of numerous Indian manufactures thanks to “open-source” Android operating system. Towards the end of 2012, only Karbonn and Micromax had established their grip in the mid-range smartphone segment with value for money smartphones. The year 2013 helped the Indian manufacturers expand their market share by offering Full HD display smartphones with Quad-core processors for affordable price points.

Micromax is all set to launch the Bolt A61,a  new budget smartphone in the Bolt series. The Bolt 58 went on sale last month. The Bolt A61 has surfaced on the official website. It comes with a 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) display, powered by a 1GHz Spreadtrum SC7710 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It packs a 2-megapixel rear camera with flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It also has dual SIM support with dual standby similar to most of the Micromax smartphones and also has 3G support. Micromax Canvas A116i, a new smartphone in the Canvas series is now available from online retailer Snapdeal. The Micromax A116 Canvas HD was launched earlier this year, and the A116i has similar specifications as the A116. It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Micromax to assemble phones in India starting next year

Micromax is looking to start assembling its phones in India starting next year, according to reports. The company might be the second largest smartphone vendor in India, it still imports all of its devices from China to sell it here. The original device manufacturers in China who do contract manufacturing for companies like Micromax, Karbonn and so many others, have enabled the influx of cheap and powerful smartphones for our market. With the ever expanding growth of the smartphone market in India, Micromax, which boasts 21 percent of the Indian market, might surely find that the logistics of import is definitely an issue, and the company is looking to fix it.

Micromax Canvas Turbo Camera Samples

Micromax has already launched its fifth flagship(Canvas A100, Canvas A110, Canvas HD A116, Canvas 4 A210 before this) – Canvas Turbo in just about twelve months and they had recently roped in Hugh Jackman for marketing their products. The Indian manufacturer looks to be on a role ever since their Android smartphones kicked off. The latest iteration of the Canvas flagship comes with a Full HD display in a solid Aluminum unibody and a 13MP camera at the back. The 13MP camera is capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps and we will be putting its imaging capabilities to test in our review and in the meantime you can check out what the Canvas Turbo is capable of in terms of capturing photos and videos.

Micromax announced their latest flagship – Micromax Canvas Turbo without any launch event which was kind of a surprise to everyone. As expected, Micromax launched the Canvas Turbo with a Full HD display and a better quad-core processor. Micromax are sort of late to the 5inch Full HD category as Gionee Elife E6 was already launched and recently Intex Aqua i7 made its presence known(with a bunch of TV ads). Another Indian manufacturer Zen launched their Full HD smartphone – Zen 701 Ultrafone Full HD.

Micromax launched the Canvas Turbo A250, the company’s first smartphone with a 5-inch 1080p display last month. We already brought you the unboxing of the smartphone, here we have the benchmarks of it. Micromax Windows Phones to arrive mid of next year, says co-founder

Is Micromax working on a Windows Phone? Well, the second largest smartphone manufacturer in India by volume recently made big news when it unleashed a series of promotions featuring Hugh Jackman for the Micromax Canvas Turbo, and also announced its plans to enter the European markets like Russia and Romania, but a Windows Phone that is currently dominated by Nokia? The company’s co-founder Rahul Sharma has admitted in an interview that they are indeed working on them, and claims to have them ready for a launch mid next year.
