Yesterday LG announced that it will begin pre-orders for the flagship LG G5 smartphone in India starting today. Now the phone is available on pre-order exclusively on Flipkart for Rs. 52,990. Customers who pre-book the phone till May 30, 2016 will get a free LG Cam Plus companion device. After pre-order you can head to LG India website to fill the form providing your details and the invoice copy to redeem the free LG Cam Plus.

LG G5 pre-booking begins May 21 in India exclusively on Flipkart

LG already promised that it will launch its G5 smartphone with a modular design along with Friends companion devices in India in Q2 2016. Today the company has announced that it will start pre-booking for the smartphone in the country from tomorrow, May 21, 2016 till May 30, 2016, exclusively on Flipkart. LG also announced that all the customers who pre-book the phone will get a free LG Cam Plus companion device.

LG has launched Stylus 2, successor of last year’s G4 Stylus in India. It has a 5.7-inch HD in-cell touch display, is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a 7.4mm slim body with a metal frame and is just 145 grams. LG Q1 2016 profits up 65% YoY despite 15.5% drop in mobile revenue

LG Electronics has reported revenues of 13.36 trillion won (US$ 11.12 billion) in Q1 2016, down 4.5% compared to the same quarter last year with operating profit of 505.2 billion won (US$ 420.25 million), up 65% from the same period the previous year, mainly due to 55% YoY growth in Car Infotainment business. LG K7 LTE and K10 LTE ‘Made in India’ smartphones launched for Rs. 9500 and Rs. 13500

LG today launched K7 LTE and K10 LTE smartphones in India with VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) and VoWiFi (Voice Over Wi-Fi) support, as it had promised. These are the first LG smartphones to be made at its Noida plant in India and these were launched launched by telecom and IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. LG aims to make 1 million smartphones in its new plant this year. The company said that the VoLTE and VoWiFi features will enable faster transmission of data and voice. Both these smartphones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, run Android 5.1 (Lollipop), come with dual SIM support, have rear mounted power button and volume rockers and feature a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

LG introduces world’s first UHD TV receiver chip

LG has announced that it has developed the world’s first TV built-in receiver chip (LG3307) that enables users to view Ultra HD (UHD) content without a separate set-top box. This is based on next-generation broadcast standard ATSC 3.0 developed by the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) and uses ROUTE (Real⁃Time Object Delivery over Unidirectional Transport) protocol.
