LG has officially launched its flagship G5 modular smartphone in India. It started taking pre-orders for the smartphone from May 21st exclusively on Flipkart and also offered a free LG Cam Plus companion device worth Rs. 6500 for the orders. The G5 packs a 5.3-inch Quad HD Quantum always-on display, is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with LG UX, has a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, OIS 2.0, Laser auto focus, and a secondary 8-megapixel rear camera with 135-degree wide angle lens. LG G Pad III 8.0 with 8-inch Full HD display released in the US and Korea

LG has introduced G Pad III 8.0, it’s latest mid-range tablet in Korea, few days after launching it in the US and Canada. It has a 8-inch (1920 × 1200) Full HD display, is powered by a 1.5GHz Octa-Core processor and runs on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a standard USB Type-A port that will let you use standard  USB flash drives. LG has launched Gram 14, the company’s ultra-slim light-weight laptop in India. Even though it has a large 14-inch Fulll HD screen, it is barely larger than a conventional 13-inch laptop. It has Carbon Magnesium and Magnesium Alloy body offering a sturdy build and weighs just  980 grams.

Google shows LG smartwatch and JBL speakers with Project Soli radar-based gesture control

Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) division announced Project Soli, a radar-based gesture control technology at the I/O developer conference last year. Last year’s development kit was huge to use it in smaller devices such as smartwatches. So Google’s ATAP team with Infineon redesigned the chip to make it 3 times smaller and also reduce power consumption by 22 times, down from 1.2W to 0.054W. The footprint is now also 3x smaller.

Yesterday LG announced that it will begin pre-orders for the flagship LG G5 smartphone in India starting today. Now the phone is available on pre-order exclusively on Flipkart for Rs. 52,990. Customers who pre-book the phone till May 30, 2016 will get a free LG Cam Plus companion device. After pre-order you can head to LG India website to fill the form providing your details and the invoice copy to redeem the free LG Cam Plus.

LG G5 pre-booking begins May 21 in India exclusively on Flipkart

LG already promised that it will launch its G5 smartphone with a modular design along with Friends companion devices in India in Q2 2016. Today the company has announced that it will start pre-booking for the smartphone in the country from tomorrow, May 21, 2016 till May 30, 2016, exclusively on Flipkart. LG also announced that all the customers who pre-book the phone will get a free LG Cam Plus companion device.

The purported listing by the Geekbench for two LG devices – the LG-K530 and the LG-K535 – doesn’t reveal full specifications, but suggests that it could be the successor to existing K10 smartphone. LG Q1 2016 profits up 65% YoY despite 15.5% drop in mobile revenue

LG Electronics has reported revenues of 13.36 trillion won (US$ 11.12 billion) in Q1 2016, down 4.5% compared to the same quarter last year with operating profit of 505.2 billion won (US$ 420.25 million), up 65% from the same period the previous year, mainly due to 55% YoY growth in Car Infotainment business.
