LG has finally launched LG Pay, its own payment service in South Korea, after showing it off at  World IT Show 2017 exhibition in COEX last month. It uses Wireless Magnetic Communication (WMC) technology, a magnetic technology that can be used as an ordinary credit card when making offline payments. A magnetic signal is generated from a mobile device and is paid to a credit card terminal. Last month LG announced a limited period Rs. 10,000 price cut for its flagship G6 smartphone, and the smartphone was selling for Rs. 41,990, compared to the launch price of Rs. 51,990. LG will unveil its flagship V30 smartphone later this year. Now concept image of “Project Joan”, a.k.a. the LG V30 has surfaced online, thanks to @evleaks. The image shows a slide out design just like the BlackBerry Priv, but this has a secondary screen instead of a hardware keyboard. LG today announced X Venture, the company’s latest smartphone in the ‘X Series’. It has IP68 ratings for water and dust resistance, has passed 14 MIL-STD 810G tests designed for the U.S. military, is resistant to extreme temperatures, shock and water, and can be immersed in 1.5m of water for up to 30 minutes. LG G6 gets a Rs. 10000 price cut in India for limited period, available for Rs. 41990

LG launched its flagship G6 smartphone in India for Rs. 51,990 in India last month. Now it has received a Rs. 10,000 price cut in the country under new BYOD offer, and is available for Rs. 41,990 for a limited period (May 18 to June 15, 2017), according to Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom.

LG posts highest quarterly operating profit in 8 years in Q1 2017

LG Electronics has reported revenues of 14.66 trillion won (US$ 12.70 billion) in the first quarter that ended March 31, 2017, which is up 9.7% compared to the same quarter last year. It has reported operating income of 921.5 billion won (US$ 798.3 million), up 82.4% for the same quarter in 2016, after a operating loss of 35.2 billion won in the last quarter. This is LG’s highest quarterly operating income in eight years, driven by increase in sales in Home Appliance & Air Solutions Company. LG just launched its flagship G6 smartphone at an event in India, as it had promised. It was introduced at MWC 2017 event in Barcelona back in February and packs 13-megapixel dual rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash, OIS 2.0, manual mode,  125-degree lens for secondary camera and a secondary 5-megapixel front camera with 100-degree wide angle lens.

LG today started pre-bookings for its flagship G6 smartphone ahead of launch on April 21st. It also announced special offers including up to Rs. 7000 cash back. Now Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom has revealed that the G6 will launch at Rs. 51,990 (MOP) and will be available 29th April, before the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ go on sale on May 5th. LG started rolling out its flagship G6 smartphone globally starting this month from U.S. and Canada after it was launched in Korea. The company already confirmed that the G6 will roll out in other countries worldwide including Asia over the course of the next several weeks. Recently the company has started taking pre-registrations for the smartphone, similar to that Samsung did not its Galaxy S8 devices.
