Lava Mobiles has announced that it would launch their first tablet with 3G and Voice calling support soon. Lava launched the E-Tab XTRON, the company’s first Android tablet running Android 4.1 last month, but it lacked a SIM card slot and voice calling capabilities. The upcoming E-Tab would come with both these features, but it would run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) instead of Jelly Bean. Lava Iris 430, the company’s upcoming Android Smartphone has surfaced on their official site. Lava recently launched Blockbuster Phoneday initiative, in which the company launches a product every Friday. Last week they launched the Iris 502, that already went on sale couple of weeks back. Lava Iris 502, a new Dual SIM Android smartphone is now available from online retailer Saholic. It has a 5.0-inch (480 x 800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display similar to the Lava Iris N501 that was launched earlier this year, but this runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Intel had launched the Z2420 reference platform for low to mid end devices at the International CES 2013 just a week back, and we are now starting to learn from a report on NDTV Gadgets that the first smartphone to use that platform in India would be the Lava XOLO X500. Lava had already released the XOLO X900 in collaboration with Intel, and it proved to be quite a success. Following that, the XOLO X500 is supposed to be Lava’s second Intel phone that is ready to be launched in the Indian market.

Lava has launched Iris N501, new Android Smartphone in the Iris range. It has a 5-inch (480 × 800 pixels) display and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 0.3MP front-facing camera for video calling. It has Dual SIM support similar to the other Iris smartphones. This would compete with other budget 5-inch Dual SIM Smartphones such as Micromax A110, iBall Andi 5c, Spice Stellar Horizon, Zync Z5 Cloud and the Intex Aqua 5.0.

Intel just unveiled its new SoC platform for value smartphones in emerging markets. It is codenamed the Atom Z2420, and it directly aimed at the ever burgeoning mid range smartphone market that craves for powerful hardware. And it looks like Intel might have just the solution for value smartphones, yes, that’s what they call mid range devices now. The platform was unveiled today along with a reference device with a 3.5 inch screen, 5 megapixel camera that can shoot 7 frames per second and 1080p full HD video.
