Intel has introduced new 11th Gen Intel Core H-series processors based on 10 nanometer SuperFin process technology, feature up to 8 cores and 16 threads, with single and dual-core turbo performance up to 5.0GHz. Additionally, the central processing unit (CPU) can directly access high-speed GDDR6 memory attached to the graphics card, enabling gamers to experience higher frame rates with lower latency, and load large textures faster. The mobile processor offers 2.5 times the total PCIe bandwidth to the CPU compared with the 10th Gen H-series processors, and three times the total PCIe bandwidth compared with other industry processors. After detailing its 11th Gen Core S-series desktop processors (code-named “Rocket Lake-S”) with New Cypress Cove architecture featuring Ice Lake Core architecture and Tiger Lake Graphics architecture back in October last year, Intel has officially introduced the 11th Gen Core S-series Core i5, Core i7 and Core i9 processors. The new architecture brings up to 19% gen-over-gen instructions per cycle (IPC) improvement for the highest frequency cores and adds Intel UHD graphics featuring the Intel Xe graphics architecture for rich media and intelligent graphics capabilities. Intel 11th gen Core H-series mobile processors, Core vPro, Pentium Silver, Celeron processors and more announced at CES 2021
During its CES 2021 keynote event, Intel announced multiple new mobile processors that feature their 11th gen Core technologies. They introduced updated processors for their business customers with new Intel Core vPro CPUs; new Core-H series processors for gaming and new N-series Pentium Silver and Celeron processors that are targeted at education systems.

SK hynix acquires Intel’s NAND memory and storage business for $9 billion
SK hynix, one of the world’s biggest manufacturer and supplier of NAND flash storage, is further expanding their business with the acquisition of Intel’s NAND memory and storage business. The agreement will cost SK hynix a total of $9 billion and is expected to close by March 2025.

Intel introduces Thunderbolt 4 universal USB Type-C connectivity solution with 40Gbps bandwidth
Intel just announced Thunderbolt 4, the next-generation Thunderbolt with USB4 specification. It still has USB-C connector offering 40Gbps speed, same as the Thunderbolt 3, but this will offer docks with up to four Thunderbolt ports and universal cables up to 2 meters in length. It has also doubled minimum video and data requirements of Thunderbolt 3 and expanded end-to-end solution capabilities. Intel has announced the launch of its 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors along with multiple hardware and software AI products. These include the Intel Optane persistent memory 200 series, Intel SSD D7-P5500 and P5600, Intel Stratix 10 NX FPGAs, and software solutions as part of its Select Solutions portfolio.

Security flaw “Thunderspy” affecting thunderbolt devices discovered
A researcher at Eindhoven University of Technology has discovered 7 new vulnerabilities in Intel’s Thunderbolt technology that enables attackers to access a system’s data even if it is encrypted or if the device is locked. The security flaws have been acknowledged by Intel, who has already released patches via OS updates to prevent exploitation via this flaw.

Intel acquires urban mobility app Moovit for $900 million
Intel’s Mobileye, automotive solutions partner, is getting a boost today as Intel announced their acquisition of Moovit, a mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) solutions company, for $900 million. Moovit will bring over its 800 million users and services in nearly 3,100 cities across 102 countries under Intel’s Mobileye now.

Following the launch of 10th Gen Ice Lake and Comet Lake processors, Intel has now announced the 10th Gen Mobile H-series processor based on the Comet Lake family for laptops and is an upgrade to the 9th Gen Mobile H-series processor.
