It was in 2014 when Google released their first augmented reality (AR) smart glass called the Google Glass. The product ended up being unpopular, but it seems like Google has not given up on the idea. Now they have announced their acquisition of North, which is a company that specialises in human computer interfaces and smart glasses.

Google Search will now show free retail listings in the US

Free listing of retail is an excellent way to connect consumers with more merchandise from businesses. Earlier, Google showed free listings in the Shopping Tab, but now will show them in the main Google Search results page, in a move to increase consumer interaction.

Google will now auto-delete location, search data by default for new users after 18 months

Last year, Google rolled out a feature that gave users the option to auto-delete their user data from some of Google’s core services, namely Location History, search, voice and YouTube activity data. Today they announced that Google will be turning on this option by default, instead of the data being kept until the user chooses to delete it themselves.

Google removes over 70 malicious Chrome add-ons after global surveillance spyware campaign

Researchers from the Awake Security Threat team has discovered a global surveillance campaign that uses spyware software via extensions found on the Google Chrome Webstore. These malicious extensions have nearly 33 million downloads and almost all of them used domains that were linked to small registrar in Israel called Galcomm.

Android 11 Conversations and Bubbles on Facebook and Twitter previewed
