Porsche Design and Research In Motion (RIM) has launched the Porsche Design P’9981 in India. It is made of  exclusive materials such as forged stainless steel frame, hand-wrapped leather back cover, sculpted QWERTY keyboard, and crystal clear touch display and has exclusive Porsche Design UI on top of the latest BlackBerry OS 7. Developer manages to run iOS apps on BlackBerry PlayBook

A developer has managed to run iOS apps running on the BlackBerry PlayBook via an iOS player. The developer called businesscat2000 has posted several videos on the CrackBerry forums after which they tested him to prove the videos are real. RIM brought support to run Java and Android apps via App players last year and is prepping for the next BlackBerry 10 OS launch that would also be available for the PlayBook which would bring new features. RIM wins lawsuit over BBM Trademark


Research in Motion (RIM) has won the law suit that lets them to continue using the BBM name for its BlackBerry Messenger service. Last December, BBM Canada, a broadcasting company filed a lawsuit against RIM to stop RIM from advertising the service using the shortened name. BlackBerry Curve 9320 launched in India for Rs. 15,990


Research In Motion (RIM) has launched the BlackBerry Curve 9320 in India. The Curve 9320 was announced earlier this month and is the 3G version of the Curve 9220 that was launched in India last month. It has 2.44-inch (320×240 pixels) TFT display with a QWERTY keyboard and is powered by on 806 MHz processor. RIM announces new COO and CMO

BlackBerry maker RIM (Research in Motion) has announced its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Kristian Tear is the new COO and Frank Boulben is the new CMO. Tear served as Executive Vice President of Sony Mobile Communications previously and has held operational leadership positions with Ericsson in Europe, Asia and Latin America. Boulben is the former Executive Vice President of Strategy, Marketing and Sales for LightSquared. He previously severed as Global Director of Commercial Strategy for Vodafone Group and Executive Vice President of Brand and Consumer Marketing for Orange Group. RIM announces BlackBerry Curve 9320

RIM  (Research in Motion) has announced BlackBerry Curve 9320 with 3G connectivity. They launched the BlackBerry Curve 9220, an affordable smartphone with 2G connectivity in India last month. It has similar design as the 9220 and has 2.44-inch (320×240 pixels) TFT display with a QWERTY keyboard and a dedicated BBM button. Other than the 3G support this has 3.2MP camera with Flash and runs on BlackBerry OS 7.1. Viber for BlackBerry and Windows Phone Beta now available, Voice calling coming soon

Viber launched VOIP (Voice Over IP) app for iPhone back in 2010 and for Android last year that we reviewed. Now they have launched Beta apps for BlackBerry and Windows Phone platforms. Nokia launches patent suit against HTC, RIM and Viewsonic

In the latest twist in the never ending saga that is mobile patent lawsuits, Nokia has today filed suit against HTC, RIM and Viewsonic alleging that their products infringe a number of Nokia patents. The claims were filed in United States and Germany, and includes complaints to the US International Trade Commission (ITC). Nokia has alleged that up to 45 patents were infringed upon. Nokia is no stranger to patent disputes, launching a similar claim against Apple a couple of years ago. The legal challenge, which resulted in a counterclaim by Apple, was settled outside the court with the house that Steve build settling an one-off payment while agreeing a cross licensing deal. HTC is also currently embroiled in a legal dispute with Apple over alleged infringements over unlicensed patents.
