BlackBerry Evolve with 5.99-inch FHD+ display, dual rear cameras, EvolveX with Snapdragon 660 launched in India for Rs. 24990 and Rs. 34990

Optiemus just launched the BlackBerry Evolve and EvolveX smartphones in India, as expected. Both the phones have a 5.99-inch Full HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, run Android 8.1 (Oreo) with secured DTEK app and feature a 16-megapixel front camera. The Evolve is powered by Snapdragon 450 with 4GB of RAM and dual 13-megapixel rear cameras, while the EvolveX is powered by Snapdragon 660 with 6GB of RAM, and has a 12-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 13-megapixel camera with real-time  depth of field effect for portrait shots. BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X expected to launch on August 2 as the company schedules an event in India

BlackBerry smartphone code-named ‘Ghost’ with a bezel-less display surfaced earlier this year. Later it was rumored that the phone will be launched by Optiemus in India in Q3 2018 in two models – Evolve and Evolve X. Now the company has sent out invites for a event in India on August 2nd where the smartphones are expected to launch.

BlackBerry KEY2 Lite with dual rear cameras surfaces in live image, could be announced at IFA 2018 [Update: Will launch as KEY2 LE]

Update – July 28: Now the smartphone has passed through FCC in several variants – BBE100-1 (Single SIM) and BBE100-4 (Dual SIM) for global markets, BBE100-2 (Single SIM) and BBE100-5 (Dual SIM) for the American market and BBE100-3 for China. It also confirms that the smartphone will arrive as BlackBerry KEY2 LE.

Optiemus Infracom Limited just launched the Blackerry KEY2 in India. Update: Now we have the price of the smartphone. According to @evleaks it will cost $649 (Rs. 43,520 approx.) in the U.S. €649 (US$ 763 / Rs. 51,200 approx.) in UK,  £579 (US$ 777 / Rs. 52,122  approx.) in Europe and $829 (US$ 640 / Rs. 42,920  approx.) in Canada, which is costly compared to the KEY ONE. BlackBerry KEY2 press image surfaces ahead of announcement on June 7

BlackBerry recently confirmed that introduce its KEY2 at an event in New York City on June 7th as the successor to last year’s KEYone. We had already seen press renders of the phone back in April, thanks to @evleaks we have more press renders that shows the 4.5-inch display with the June 7th date, keyboard on the front, dual rear cameras on the back and textured back. BlackBerry KEY2 with 4.5-inch 3:2 display, QWERTY keyboard, dual-rear cameras to be announced on June 7

BlackBerry today announced that it will introduce its new smartphone codenamed ‘Athena’ as KEY2 at an event in New York on June 7th. This is the successor to last year’s KEYone  that was introduced at the MWC 2017. Recent TENAA certification revealed that this will have the same display and physical QWERTY keyboard, but most other specs will get an upgrade.

BlackBerry Athena with QWERTY keyboard, Snapdragon 660, 6GB RAM, dual-rear cameras, Android 8.1 gets certified

Back in February BlackBerry Athena was first spotted on Geekbench, through configuration files, and in European device registration databases. Earlier this month press renders of the phone surfaced, now the phone has been certified by TENAA in China with the model number BBF100-4 confirming the specifications of the phone, including a 4.5-inch (1620 x 1080 pixels) display with 3:2 aspect ratio and a 4-row QWERTY physical backlit keyboard with keys that should respond to touch gestures, support for flick typing, up to 52 customizable shortcuts and the fingerprint sensor is built into the spacebar, same as last year’s KEYone.
