Yesterday, at an event, ASUS announced new laptop refreshes across their Vivobook, Zenbook and ProArt Studiobook series, including the Zenbook 14X OLED, Zenbook 14 Flip OLED, Vivobook Pro and ProArt Studiobook 16. They are designed for creatives and professionals, featuring OLED display options with PANTONE validation, high-end AMD or Intel CPU options, along with unique features such as the integrated ASUS Dial.
ASUS last week introduced the Chromebook Detachable CZ1 (CZ1000), the company’s latest Chromebook with a 10.1-inch FHD touch screen and full-size keyboard with 1.5 mm key travel that can be detached, as well as a stylus that is included and can be housed in the slot. The Chromebook has anti-collision rubber strips all around in line with MIL-STD-810H US military regulations and can withstand shocks and drops. ASUS just introduced the ROG Phone 5s, the company’s latest flagship gaming smartphone, in Taiwan as the successor to the ROG Phone 5 which was launched earlier this year. It retains the 6.78-inch Full HD+ Samsung’s E4 AMOLED HDR display with 144Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch-sampling rate, 24.3ms touch latency and has up to 18GB of RAM and up to 512GB storage, but this is powered by Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC. ASUS is no stranger to gaming laptops. Their ROG series of laptops are some of the best in the high-end segment of industry, with premium prices to match. Yesterday, AMD announced their latest RDNA 2-based Radeon RX 6000 series mobile GPUs at Computex 2021. ASUS has now unveiled their first laptops to feature these GPUs paired with the AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU, called the Strix G15 and G17 Advantage Edition gaming laptops.
In recent years, major computer brands have tried introducing new form factors for laptops, with varying degrees of success. ASUS themselves have tried putting another display on a laptop, like underneath the touchpad. The ZenBook Duo takes another route though – it has a full 12.65-inch secondary display along with its primary 14-inch display. ASUS is targeting this laptop towards creative professionals, such as photographers, videographers and even digital artists, thanks to its support for a stylus. After using the laptop for about a week, here is my review about it.
