Ari Partinen, the man instrumental behind some of the most iconic camera centric devices to come out of Nokia just announced his departure from the company. Not one to leave much to doubt, he also confirmed that his next destination will be Cupertino, California. Senior Lumia engineer, Ari has worked on game changing devices like the Nokia N8, PureView 808 and the Lumia 1020. Partinen’s experience stretches from camera module production all the way to tuning final image quality and has worked on tuning at the ISP level for some of Nokia’s biggest projects. Apple iPhone 6 with 4.7-inch display reportedly launching in August

Apple plans to launch the iPhone 6, successor of the iPhone 5s in August, a month earlier than expected, according to a report from Taiwan’s Economic Daily News (Reuters). This new comes from unidentified supply-chain sources in Taiwan. The report also says that the large-screen iPhone (5.5 or 5.6 inch) would be released in September. Adobe Voice storytelling app released for iPad

Adobe has launched a storytelling app for iPad that enables users to make animated videos which can be turned into stories. Jury says Samsung infringed Apple patents, orders to pay $119 million in fine

The long going Apple and Samsung patent trial received another hearing and decision from the US federal jury. In its verdict, the jury found Samsung guilty of infringing on two of four Apple patents, the ‘647 patent for data detectors and the ‘721 patent for “slide-to-unlock”. However, the jury said that Samsung did not infringe the ‘959 “universal search” patent or the ‘414 “background sync” patent.

Nike shifts focus to software, excited about Apple partnership

Nike recently dismissed rumors about its plan to shut down wearable division of FuelBand. Now, the company President and CEO Mike Parker has announced that Nike is looking to expand its partnerships with other companies, including Apple. Parker stated in a CNBC interview that the company is concentrating on software development as it looks to grow the userbase of its NikeFuel tracking system.

Apple, Google and two other tech companies settle antitrust lawsuit

Google, Apple, Intel and Adobe Systems have settled a class-action lawsuit against nearly 65,000 employees who had alleged the companies conspired to keep wages artificially low through no-hire agreements. Reuters report reveals that Apple, Google, Adobe and Intel have agreed to settle the case and the settlement amount is worth $324 million.

Apple iPhone sales in India soar to 55%, more than doubled YoY
