Apple launches web tool to deregister phone numbers from iMessage

Apple has released a new web tool that allows users to remove their phone numbers from iMessage registration. The web tool which is dubbed as ‘Deregister iMessage‘ will answer users biggest concern when they shift from iPhone to a smartphone from other mobile platform.

Apple deregister message

Introduced in 2011, iMessage helps iPhone users communicate with one another over data networks and Wi-Fi, instead of using text messages on cellular networks. However, if you change your phone and do not switch off iMessage, your messages will be delivered to your old iPhone, even if it is no longer in use. This is where the new tool comes in.

Users will need to head over to “Deregiser iMessage’ page on Apple’s website, enter their phone number, tap in the confirmation code they receive, enter it on the page and their number will be removed from iMessage. People who still have their original iPhone can also transfer their SIM card back to the device and go to Settings>Messages to turn iMessage off.
