Qualcomm Technologies and Ericsson at the 4G/5G Summit in Hong Kong announced the successful completion of a 3GPP Rel-15 spec compliant 5G NR over-the-air (OTA) call over sub-6 GHz bands on a smartphone form factor mobile test device. Qualcomm accuses Apple of stealing trade secrets to improve performance of Intel chips
Qualcomm seems to be in no mood to stop its legal battle against Apple as the chip maker freshly accuses Apple of stealing software and tools to improve chips from its rival Intel. Qualcomm is asking the judge to include the consideration of the latest accusations to a case between the two in state court in California. The suit is due to go to trial in April next year. Verizon completes first 5G NR call on a commercial network with simulated smartphone
Verizon, Ericsson, and Qualcomm Technologies today announced that they have completed the first end-to-end call with a smartphone form factor test device on a commercial 3GPP 5G New Radio (NR) network in Minneapolis, MN. This test demonstrates the experience consumers will eventually have on a commercial 5G NR network when it becomes available. Qualcomm reports $5.6 billion revenue, 4% YoY growth in FY Q3 2018, decides to terminate NXP acquisition plans
Qualcomm Incorporated today announced results for its fiscal third quarter ended June 24, 2018. The company has reported a revenue of $5.6 billion compared to $5.4 billion from the same time last year. This is a good 4% improvement YoY. Qualcomm’s operating income comes to around $0.9 billion versus the $0.8 billion from Q3 Fiscal 2017 and is a 20% growth. Qualcomm Snapdragon 1000 said to be exclusively designed for windows 10 PCs
Microsoft and Qualcomm is said to be working on a new platform exclusively for more powerful notebooks and 2-in-1 tablets based on ARM chipsets. The new processor in question is the Snapdragon 1000 and it is intended for Windows 10 based on the ARM with performance equal to Intel’s U and Y Core processors. Apple files lawsuit against Qualcomm over four patent infringement
Apple is not stopping its legal battle against Qualcomm as the company has filed petitions with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to challenge four of Qualcomm’s patents. The main goal of Apple is to have the patent office cancel the four Qualcomm patents in question.
