Intel has finally announced the XMM 8160 5G modem that is aimed at providing 5G connectivity to phones, PCs and broadband access gateways. The XMM 8160 5G will support peak speeds up to 6 gigabits per second, making it three to six times faster than the latest LTE modems. According to to a latest report, Apple’s first 5G iPhone said to hit the market in 2020. The company is planning on using Intel’s 8161 5G modem chip in its 2020 phones. Intel will be the sole provider of iPhone modems. Intel is also said to be working on 8060 modems which will be used for prototyping and testing the 5G iPhone.

Intel has announced new 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K which is its gaming processor. The i9-9900K offers eight cores and 16 threads, clocked at a base frequency of 3.6 GHz, boost up to 5.0 GHz. Other Intel Core X-series processors include 9th Gen Core i5 and Core i7 models; the i7-9700K, i5-9600K and the Intel Xeon W-3175X processor. They feature 8th Gen Intel Core processors and the company claims that the new Intel NUCs bring desktop performance in a compact form factor. Intel today has announced the Core i7-8700K limited edition processor with upto 5.0 GHz single-core turbo frequency. It is the new hyper-frequency version of the company’s Coffee Lake processor in the Core i7-8086K.
