Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin are starting a new company called Alphabet. While there’s nothing very remarkable in that, the real bombshell is that Google will now be rolled under Alphabet alongside other more ‘risky’ ventures. Google aims at launching Android One smartphones priced below Rs. 3000 in India (Updated)

Google Maps for iOS receives new Night Mode feature

Google releases LMY48I Factory Images and Stagefright patch for Nexus devices

Google has released Factory Images for build LMY48I in order to fix the Stagefright security bug. The factory images are available for the Nexus 6, Nexus 9 (LTE and WiFi), Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (2013, WiFi), Nexus 10, and Nexus 4.

Android Lollipop adoption hits 18.1%

Google has released Android distribution numbers for June and July. Android Lollipop is now running on 18.1% of Android devices of which 5.0 Lollipop is present on 15.5% of devices while Lollipop 5.1 runs on 2.6%.

Google takes down Google+ account requirement across all products

Google has announced that it is dropping the requirement to have a Google+ account in order to share content, communicate with others, and create a channel on YouTube. Users will now only need their general Google accounts to access all the products.

Lenovo S60 now receiving update to Android 5.0 Lollipop

The Lenovo S60 was announced earlier this year and was released in the Indian market during May 2015.
