Android Oreo adoption rate climbs to 12.1%, Nougat is now on 30.8% devices

Google is out with Android distribution numbers for the month of July and Oreo adoption rate has climbed up to 12.1% which includes both Android 8.0 and 8.1. Alphabet records $32.7 billion in revenue with 26% YoY growth in Q2 2018

Alphabet today announced financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2018. The company has recorded a total revenue of $32.657 billion with a YoY increase of 26% and an operating income of $2.807 billion with 9% margin, this is including the fines. Google’s Project Fuchsia OS said to be successor to Android

Google warns change in Android business model post $5.04 billion EU penalty

The EU has fined Google with a $5.04 billion for forcing its apps on Android manufacturers. European Commission fines Google $5.04 billion for forcing its apps on Android manufacturers

The European Commission has fined Google €4.34 billion ($5.04 billion) for breaching EU antitrust rules. It claims that since 2011, Google has imposed illegal restrictions on Android device manufacturers and mobile networks to cement its dominant position in general internet search.
