Facebook officially withdraws Free Basics from India
Facebook has finally pulled the plug on its Free Basics service in India. The move comes from the social network only days after the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) favoured Net Neutrality and banned differential pricing. Differential pricing means charging customers different prices for access to different websites and services.

Facebook expands Live Video streaming to all iPhone users
Facebook started testing the live video feature on their iPhone app last month. Now the social network has announced that it is expanding the feature to all iPhone users. In order to share a live video, you will have to tap on Update Status and then select the Live Video icon.

Facebook is shutting down its Parse mobile developer platform
Facebook is pulling the plug on Parse, its mobile developer platform. Acquired in 2013, Parse helped small mobile developers build apps using Facebook-owned tools and servers. The social network is killing the service on January 28, 2017.

Facebook has announced that it has added Tor support for its Android app via the Orbot proxy app. The social network added support for Tor-enabled browsers in 2014 and now it is bringing that same support to Android devices.

Facebook is testing a new browser for its mobile app that will allow users to browse within the app. According to a report from The Next Web, users will be able to access new web pages without leaving the app.
Facebook Messenger hits 800 million monthly active users
Facebook has revealed that its Messenger app now has more than 800 million monthly active users (MAU). The social network said that Messenger crossed this mark at the end of 2015. In comparison, WhatsApp Messenger has 900 million monthly active users.

Facebook for iOS now supports Live Photos
Facebook’s iOS app is adding support for Live Photos feature, that debuted on Apple’s recently launched iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Uploading a Live Photo to Facebook is same as uploading a normal photo from your camera roll.
