Twitter reports $711 million revenue, 24% YoY growth in Q2 2018, has 335 million monthly active users

Twitter today announced financial results for its second quarter 2018. The company’s Q2 revenue totaled $711 million that is a solid increase of 24% year-over-year. Twitter’s Advertising revenue was around $601 million, a growth of 23% YoY. it reported a net income of $100 million in Q2 2018. 

Twitter introduces new developer requirements to prevent misinformation, removed over 143,000 apps in Q2 2018

Twitter today has announced that between April and June 2018, removed more than 143,000 apps that violated the policies. The company also announced its efforts to stop malicious apps from entering the platform and remove problematic apps to limit the access these apps have on the platform in the first place.

Twitter for Android finally gets a new bottom navigation bar

Twitter is finally rolling out a new bottom navigation bar for Android much like how it is for iOS. This makes it easier for navigation while browsing through the latest tweets. However, this change doesn’t let you swipe between the various tabs of the app such as Home, Search, Notifications, and Messages.

Twitter reportedly suspended more than 70 million fake accounts in May and June

Twitter doesn’t seem to be slowing down its fight against fake users as the company reportedly suspended 70 million accounts in May and June in its attempts to reduce the impact of misinformation. This new count is double the accounts it suspended back in October.
