Twitter adds new floating compose button for iOS

Twitter has added a new compose button to its official iOS mobile app that is designed for one-handed scrolling and tweet composing. Pressing and hold the icon gives you access to drafts, photos, and the GIF gallery. It is present on the bottom, it can be tapped to start composing a tweet.

Twitter has announced that it is testing a new way to display Tweets in the feed. The company will now allow you to switch your timeline between the latest and top Tweets. This will bring the latest Tweets to the top in you want to know what’s been happening. 

Twitter reports $758 million revenue, 29% YoY growth in Q3 2018, has 326 million monthly active users

Twitter, Inc. has announced financial results for its third quarter of 2018 which had a total revenue of $758 million, an increase of 29% year-over-year. The company’s advertising revenue totaled $650 million, an increase of 29% year-over-year. Twitter’s total ad engagements increased 50% year-over-year and the cost per engagement decreased 14% year-over-year.

Twitter brings uniformity to emoji character count

Twitter has announced moving forward it will count all emojis equally including those with gender and skin tone modifiers. This update marks significant progress for our service, and everyone can now benefit from the additional room to express themselves with more character. It is also in support of recent updates to Unicode.

Twitter to drop support for creation of Moments on Android and iOS on October 23rd

Twitter today announced that it is removing the ability to create Moments on the Twitter for iOS or Android apps on October 23rd. The company says that it often removes the features that aren’t used much to focus on building other products that are used most. 

Twitter to soon let users switch between chronological and ranked timeline

Twitter today announced that it will soon let you catch up on the best Tweets from people you follow. The next time when you uncheck the  “Show the best tweets first” setting, Twitter will display the Tweets in reverse chronological order; non-algorithmic timeline.

Twitter introduces new Requests and Quality DM-filtering tools

Twitter has introduced a new Inbox style wherein you will now see messages from people you follow in one section and Messages from the people you don’t follow in the ‘Requests’ setting in case you have enabled ‘Receive messages from anyone’.
