Google finally bans Crypto-mining, repetitive apps from the Play Store

Google today has yet again updated its Play Store developer policies and first among them is the “appeal to children but contain adult themes” are no longer allowed. In the same regards, apps that include content that adult content will be immediately banned from the Store.

Samsung surpasses Xiaomi in India to regain number one position with 29% market share in Q2 2018: Counterpoint

Xiaomi really nailed it last quarter in India pushing Samsung behind to regain the number one position in the smartphone space. However, Samsung gave it back this time reclaiming the top position. According to Counterpoint Research, the smartphone market returned to double-digit growth (18%) YoY after flat first-quarter growth.

Google releases final Android P Beta 4 (DP5), stable release coming soon

Google released Android ‘P’ Beta 3 (DP4) for the Pixel smartphones earlier this month, now it has released final Beta 4 (DP5) for the phones, before the stable version releases. This has official Android P APIs (API level 28), available since Beta 2. It also comes with July 2018 Android security patch.

Twitter introduces new developer requirements to prevent misinformation, removed over 143,000 apps in Q2 2018

Twitter today has announced that between April and June 2018, removed more than 143,000 apps that violated the policies. The company also announced its efforts to stop malicious apps from entering the platform and remove problematic apps to limit the access these apps have on the platform in the first place. 

Entry-level 6.1-inch LCD iPhone 2018 might be delayed until October: Apple analyst

According to Morgan Stanley’s Katy Huberty who is a noted Apple analyst, the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone despite being announced in September might not be available for sale until October. The major delay for this is because of the production problems with the innovative backlighting system.

Chrome for Android is getting a new update bringing the version number to V68. This update brings the HTTP ‘Not secure’ warning as well as Spectre and redirects protections. It also gets a new tab switcher similar to Android P and also a new “Add to Home screen” prompt.

Xiaomi Mi Ultrasonic Toothbrush and Robot Builder announced for global markets

Xiaomi alongside the Mi A2 and A2 Lite at an event in Spain has also announced the Mi Ultrasonic Toothbrush that was announced last year and Robot Builder and said that they will be rolling out globally in the coming days.
