Skype for iPhone and iPad has been updated to version 4.6 that brings new features including an improved user interface for the calling screen, several bug fixes and improvements. This also brings a new and easy way to mark messages as ‘read’. Even though several issues regarding Calling, Conversations, File Transfer has been resolved, still there are several issues in VoiceOver. Skype promises they are working on a fix to resolve these issues.

Micromax A110 Canvas 2 would get the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update next week, according to reports from Tech2. Micromax launched the A110 Canvas 2 last year, and we reviewed it earlier this year. The company’s latest Smartphone  the A116 Canvas HD comes with Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box, and they already said that it would get the Android 4.2 update eventually. Yes, the cat is finally out of the bag. Nokia Lumia 620, the company’s mid range Windows Phone 8 device that has been much awaited in the Indian market, has finally gone on sale in the Nokia India online shop. The currently available colours on sale are Cyan, Green, White and Magenta while the Yellow and Black variants are still shown as “Coming soon”, but we think it’s a work in progress at the site, and it might be available soon too. All the colour variations are priced at Rs. 14,999/- with delivery marked as “within 7 days” meaning it is already hitting retail anytime now.

Xolo is all set to launch the Q800, the company’s first Smartphone powered by a quad-core processor next week. We already told you earlier this week that the Xolo Q800 is coming this month. The phone showed up on Flipkart with complete specifications, and there is a count down for the phone’s launch on Xolo website, which shows 6 days remaining. It has a 4.5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with PowerVR SGX544 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It might be the MediaTek MT6589 SoC similar to the Micromax A116 Canvas HD since this has a PowerVR SGX544 GPU. Rovio has finally made the original Angry Birds free for the iPhone and iPad. Rovio launched the most popular Angry Birds game for iOS back in 2009, and this is the first time the game has gone free. This might be a limited period offer, but we are not sure until Rovio announces it officially. The Angry Birds Rio for iPhone and iPad went free back in January. It was supposed to be a limited time offer, but the game is still free, so even the Angry Birds classic might also remain free. This update includes new race track called Singapore by Night, as well as 2 new gameplay features. Sports Car Challenge features an exclusive selection of high-end sports cars by Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Volkswagen. The new Singapore by Night race tracks has neon-lit streets, re-modeled sights and landmarks set in Southeast Asian city-state and the new gameplay features include Racing Line and Brake Assistant. Prior joining Airtel, he served as Chief Marketing Officer for Nokia India between January 2008 to April 2010. He has over 25 years of experience and has worked in sectors like Sales, Marketing, Multimedia, Operations in companies including Hindustan Lever Ltd., Nokia India and Bharti Airtel. Lava to launch 7-inch Tablet with 3G, Voice calling soon

Lava Mobiles has announced that it would launch their first tablet with 3G and Voice calling support soon. Lava launched the E-Tab XTRON, the company’s first Android tablet running Android 4.1 last month, but it lacked a SIM card slot and voice calling capabilities. The upcoming E-Tab would come with both these features, but it would run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) instead of Jelly Bean. Even though earlier rumors revealed the specifications of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4, new screenshots from the U.S variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4 has confirmed that the phone would indeed come with a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels). These also reveal that it would be powered by a 1.8 GHz quad-core processor and come with 4G LTE support. It shows the new home screen with a slightly better Touchwiz UI and the smart screen settings confirms the Smart scroll and Smart pause features. LG has launched the Optimus LTE 3, the successor of the Optimus LTE 2 in Korea. The Optimus LTE 3 is just the Optimus F7 that was unveiled at the MWC last month. It packs a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) True HD IPS Display and is powered by 1.5GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It is 9.6 mm thick and weighs 134 grams. It has Q shopping, a NFC-based shopping app for Korean users.

Airtel launches new roaming pack for prepaid customers in Delhi

Airtel has launched a new roaming pack for their prepaid mobile customers in Delhi that would let them enjoy free incoming calls while roaming in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and West Bengal (except Kolkata). This pack costs Rs. 21, and offers free incoming calls for 30 days while roaming in any of these states. National roaming usually costs Re 1 per minute, this pack eliminates such charges, at least in these states when the pack is activated.
