Samsung is making plans to introduce a new Smartwatch that can work standalone, untethered from the phone, says a report from WSJ. After having released 4 different models of wearable devices already, Samsung is planning to take it to a direction where some smaller companies have already started heading towards, which is the idea of a “Smart watch-phone”. We already heard some rumours of a Gear 2 solo, the independent smartwatch that was reportedly in the works, and the WSJ report could just be a confirmation of the smartwatch of another kind. Yes, it will be different. This kind of a smartwatch is literally a miniature phone on your wrist, which can be used to perform most of the general duties of a modern smartphone, including taking calls, checking mails, the ability to have internet connected apps and so forth. Samsung pursuing this direction could be the desire to be a pioneer in a new category of devices, for a market that’s already been used to this idea in science fiction plots one too many.

LG has released three new video teasers on its official Korean website ahead of May 27th launch event. Last week’s LG G3 video teaser revealed its advanced OIS camera, brushed metal back, rear buttons, powerful (1-watt) speakers, narrow bezels and more. The new teasers reveal the phone’s metallic design again, its camera that is said to come with a unique laser beam sensor and its 5.5-inch Quad HD display. Sony D2403, an unknown device has been spotted on GFXBench. This reveals the complete specifications of the smartphone. According to benchmark listing, the phone would have a 4.7-inch (960 x 540 pixels) display, powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 GPU and runs on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) out of the box. It would have a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 1080p video recording and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. Facebook wants to help you decide your next lunch or dinner destination as it has added menus to restaurant Pages. The social network is using a tool called SinglePlatform which will allow business owners to upload their entire food or beverage menu onto Facebook.

Google is reportedly working on tablet that boasts of advanced vision capabilities that can take precise 3D images of objects, according a latest report from the Wall Street Journal. As per the sources, the 7 inch tablet is based on technology developed within Project Tango which is supervised by Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects group.

HTC M8 Ace first surfaced online in April via press leaks which was followed by rumors that it will come in plastic built body and bear a lower price tag. Yesterday, a Chinese website claimed that the phone will have a curved body along with only one camera on the back with LED flash. This was followed by a tweet from HTC teasing “more beautiful curves coming soon,” suggesting the launch of HTC M8 Ace.

Nokia X2 (RM-1013), the successor of the Nokia X, the company’s first Android smartphone surfaced few days back on a Chinese website. Now the smartphone has appeared on AnTuTu benchmark. This confirms the previous leak that the phone would be powered by a 1.2 dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB RAM and 4GB internal storage. This also reveals more specifications such as 4.3-inch WVGA screen, Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean), 5-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Huawei has announced the Honor 3X Pro and the 4G variant of the Honor 3C in China. It unveiled the Honor 3X and the Honor 3C back in December last year. The Honor 3C was launched in India earlier this month and the international variant of the Honor 3X was launched as Ascend G750. The Honor 3X Pro is powered by the same 1.7 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) with Emotion UI 2.0, but this has a 5.5-inch 1080p LTPS display, unlike the 720p display on the Honor 3X.
