Acer announced the higher mid-range Android smartphone – Acer Liquid Jade at the Computex 2014 event in Taipei. The phone comes bundled with Acer Liquid Leap fitness band in certain markets. The Acer Liquid Jade seems to be the exact combination of the mid-range smartphone being powered by a MediaTek quad-core processor and a 720p HD 5inch screen.

LinkedIn adds profile redesign for Premium users

LinkedIn is following footsteps of Facebook and Twitter by giving its user profile a makeover. Now, premium account users on LinkedIn can add background images to their profile pages which is similar to Facebook’s and Twitter’s cover photo feature. Users can either upload their own image, or select from a gallery of header images provided by LinkedIn.

Micromax has announced that it has appointed Sanjay Kapoor Chairman of the board and a part of Micromax’s promoter group. Sony Xperia Z2 Camera Samples

Sony announced the Sony Xperia Z2 at MWC 2014 earlier this year and it wasn’t much of an update when compared to the Sony Xperia Z1. The Sony Xperia Z2 comes with an almost similar body while the internals have been beefed up to match the latest generation SoC. Sony has decided to stick with the similar 20.7MP camera module on the Xperia Z2 that is currently found in the Xperia Z1 and the Xperia Z1 Compact.

Google Glass adds ‘Notification glance’ in the latest update

Google has updated Glass with an experimental feature that will make viewing notification simple. Dubbed as Notification Glance, the  feature enables Glass Explorers to simply look at the Glass to receive the notification. Prior to this users had to either tap on the touchpad or nod your head. Now, you can just glance at your screen.

Tata Docomo Photon Max now offers data speed of upto 9.8 Mbps


Tata DOCOMO launched Photon Max Wi-Fi dongle last year. At the launch Tata Docomo offered speeds of up to 6.2 Mbps. Today the company has announced that it has upgraded the data speed of up to 9.8Mbps for the dongle since they have upgraded their network. All existing customers will automatically be able to access the higher speeds on their network as the network upgrade will be compatible with existing Photon Max Wi-Fi devices. This is currently available for customers in Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata. It would be subsequently extended to 8 other metro cities. Gionee launched the Elife S5.5, the world’s slimmest smartphone in India back in March that went on sale recently. We already brought you the unboxing of the device. Here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by a 1.66 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor which has 8 ARM Cortex-A7 CPUs and is based on 28nm HPM. It has a Mali 450-MP4 GPU, comes with a 5-inch HD display and  runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) with Amigo 2.0 UI on top. Check out the synthetic benchmark results below.

Acer Liquid X1 Hands On and Photo Gallery

Acer unveiled the Liquid X1 last week, ahead of this week’s Computex 2014 in Taipei. We got to check out the smartphone. It is powered by a octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor and also has 4G LTE connectivity. It feature a large 5.7-inch HD display and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with custom UI on top, similar to most other smartphones that were launched at the event. Check out the hands on below.

Android KitKat activation hits 13.6%, Jelly Bean down to 58.4%

It’s that time of the month when Google releases its monthly Android distribution numbers.  KitKat’s share is consistently increasing for the past two months and now, Google’s latest version of Android is present on 13.6% . This is up from 8.5% in May and 5.3% in April.

Temple Run surpass 1 billion downloads

Temple Run has touched a new milestone by clocking over 1 billion downloads across all platforms since its inception in 2011. The popular mobile gaming sensation is a product of Imangi Studios and includes the original series and sequel Temple Run 2. This is only the second game after Rovio’s Angry Birds to cross 1 billion downloads.
