Huawei Honor 4C with 5-inch HD display, Octa-Core SoC, 4G LTE announced

Huawei has introduced the Honor 4C, the company’s latest Honor series smartphone in China. It is the successor of last year’s Honor 3C and the design looks similar to the Honor 4X. It has a 5-inch HD display and is powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 620 chipset 64-bit A53 Octa-core processor instead of a Quad-Core Snapdragon 410 chip, other features are similar to the Honor 4X, including Android 4.4 (Kitkat) with Emotion UI 3.0, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 2GB RAM and 8GB internal memory with expansion slot. Samsung Exynos M1 will be the first chipset to use custom CPU cores from the company

While Samsung, Qualcomm, Nvidia and MediaTek use ARM reference designs to make their chipsets, Apple is known for using custom cores for its chipsets. It has been rumoured for a while that Samsung are also working on their own next generation chipset with custom cores. Now it’s naming has been leaked in a document and apparently it will be called the Exynos M1.

Microsoft loses first round of patent infringement

Microsoft has lost the latest round in a patent-infringement case against U.S. International Trade Commission. According to the judge, Theodore Essex, Microsoft has infringed two wireless cellular patents owned by InterDigital, which is a company that designs technologies and licenses them to third parties.

Xiaomi Mi 4i Benchmarks

Xiaomi launched its Mi 4i smartphone in India last week at a price tag of Rs. 12,999. We brought you the hands-on impressions and the unboxing of the smartphone recently, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by a second-generation Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor that has four ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.65 GHz per core and other four Cortex A53 cores are clocked at 1.1 GHz per core. It has Adreno 405 GPU clocked at 550 MHz, 2GB DDR3 RAM, 5-inch 1080p screen and runs on MI UI 6 based on Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop). We were not able to achieve the scores that Xiaomi has mentioned on their website, but these are close enough. Check out the synthetic benchmark scores below. Apple reports $58 billion revenue in FY Q2 2015, 61.2M iPhones and 12.6M iPads sold

Apple has reported revenue of $58 billion with a net profit of $13.6 billion in their earnings for the financial year Q2 2015 that ended March 28, 2015. Revenues were up 27% and earnings per share up 40% year-over-year. Apple sold 61.2 million iPhones, compared to 43.7 million over last year, representing 40% year-over-year growth, 12.6 million iPads, compared to 16.3 million year-over-year and 4.6 million Macs during the quarter.
