Asus has announced ZenPad 3 8.0 (Z581KL) its latest Android tablet in the ZenPad series. It packs a 7.9-inch QXGA screen, is powered by an Hexa-Core Snapdragon 650 SoC and runs on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) with ZenUI on top. It is similar to the ZenPad Z8 (ZT581KL) that was introduced for Verizon, but this comes in 4GB RAM with 32GB storage variant as well, in addition to 2GB RAM with 16GB storage variant. Worldwide tablet shipments including slates and detachables, reached 38.7 million in Q2, according to preliminary data from the IDC Worldwide Quarterly Tablet Tracker. Google has started rolling out new over-the-air (OTA) update for Nexus devices and also posted factory images as part of monthly Android Security release. The latest update this month fixes several critical issues, including issues in Elevation of Privilege Vulnerability in framework APIs, Mediaserver, S hell and Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in Mediaserver and more. In addition to security fixes for August 1st, this also includes another update dated August 5th that cover hardware vulnerabilities on Nexus devices.
