In a huge blow to its expansion plans in India, the government has rejected Apple’s plea of exempting the 30% local sourcing norm to open retail stores in the country. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley decided to support the decision by India’s Foreign Investment Promotion Board regarding the 30% of local sourcing.
Moto Z Style and Moto Z Play smartphones will be announced at the Lenovo Tech World on June 9 in the new Moto Z series. Now the modules that are called Moto Mods have surfaced in images, thanks to @evleaks. The image shows camera grip with flash and optical zoom, but others are not visible clearly. Other mods could be stereo speakers and battery pack and there will be six mods in total. According to earlier rumors, these are connected magnetically and the protruding camera lens will be flush when they are attached.

OnePlus has slashed the price of both the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X smartphones, ahead of the launch of the flagship OnePlus 3 smartphone next month. Both the phones have received a $50 price cut, so these are now available for $299 and $199, respectively. This is the second price cut for the OnePlus 2, which got a $40 permanent price cut earlier this year from the launch price of $389. Xiaomi today introduced Mi Drone, it’s first UAV in an online event in China. It is made by Mi Ecosystem’s company Flymi and the CEO of the company is Cai Wei who has 7 years of experience dealing with drone. The Drone has a compact lightweight body since it is made of polycarbonate and carbon fiber. The high-end version has a 12-megapixel Sony Exmor R BSI sensor, f/2.8 aperture, 6P lenses, 94-degree field of view, three-axis image stabilization with the gimbal and has 4K video recording at 30 fps and RAW image capture and has transmission distance of up to 2 kilometers. The other version has a 16.35MP CMOS sensor with f /2.6 aperture, 104-degree field of view, up to 1080p video recording at 60fps and has transmission distance of up to 1 kilometer. Canon is back with a brand new entry-level DSLR that aims to bridge the gap between the features afforded by cellphones and the image quality of an SLR. The new Canon EOS 1300D packs an 18MP CMOS sensor and built in Wi-Fi as well as NFC. The latter two combine to make the EOS 1300D the perfect companion for social media savvy photos. Why so?
