Samsung has announced Galaxy C7 Pro (SM-C7010), successor of the Galaxy C7 in the Galaxy ‘C Series’ in China. It has a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, runs on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) with Samsung’s own UI on top, has a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and a fingerprint sensor on the home button on the front, similar to the C7, but this is powered by a slightly faster Octa-Core Snapdragon 626 14nm SoC and has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera.

Vivo launched V5, a selfie-focused smartphone in the ‘V series’ in India last year with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with Sony IMX376 1/2.78″ sensor, f/2.0 aperture and 5p lens. It already teased the high-end version called the V5 Plus during the launch, later it announced that it will launch the phone in India on January 23rd. Now the phone is available for pre-order in Malaysia and the specifications of the smartphone are detailed.

Up until 2016, dual cameras on smartphones only referred to the cameras on the front and the rear of the device. Motorola has scheduled an event on February 26 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona. The company did not introduce any new phones at the MWC last year, but it unveiled the Moto Z series at the IFA last September. Looks like we might see new “Moto G series” smartphones – Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus at the MWC this year, bit early than usual since these phones are usually unveiled in Q2 or Q3 every year.
Microsoft has made its first acquisition of 2017.
