Lenovo today launched K8 Note, the company’s latest ‘Note Series’ smartphone in India, as it had promised. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p screen, similar to the K5 Note and the K6 Note, but this is powered by a Deca-Core MediaTek Helio X23 SoC, making it the first smartphone with the processor and runs on stock Android 7.1.1 (Nougat). It has 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera to capture depth information for bokeh effect. Google has released Android distribution numbers for the month of August. Android Nougat adoption has increased to 13.5%, up 2% over last month. Nougat 7.0 was up 1.7% to 12.3% while, Nougat 7.1 increased to 1.2% from .9%. It is possible that before next month’s distribution, we will already see the arrival of Android O. It looks like Apple will release the iPhone 8 in September after all. According to KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 8, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus will launch at the same time. Previous rumor had suggested that iPhone 8 might not ship until late 2017.
