At its special event Apple announced the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max successor of last year’s iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max models, both with support for 5G. These come with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch OLED Super Retina XDR displays, respectively and have support for HDR and Dolby Vision. These come with new Ceramic Shield protection with 4x better drop performance, thanks to a new high temperature crystallisation step that grows nano-ceramic crystals within the glass matrix. The phones are powered by A14 Bionic 5nm Chip with 11.8 billion transistors and a 6-core design and feature IP68 water resistance (6 meters for up to 30 minutes). There are a plethora of smartphones at every price segment and users now have a wide range of options to choose from. Among the key pillars of the smartphone, audio quality also plays a vital role in a purchase decision and with now people working remotely and staying indoors, there is a significant rise in online video consumption. This, in turn, has given rise to the demand for richer smartphone audio quality that consumers do not want to compromise on.
To better understand consumer behaviour, a survey was conducted on what audio means for Indian consumers by CMR (CyberMedia Research) across six cities, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Ahmedabad. The focus of this survey was to understand how Indians are consuming content, the importance given to sound quality and what they seek going forward while purchasing their next smartphone.

Last month OPPO confirmed that it will introduce its first Smart TV in China on October 19th. Today it has confirmed the launch date as October 19th. The company already posted a teaser of the TV with a 55-inch 4K screen, minimal bezels and a metal stand. The company is also expected to introduce a 65-inch model alongside.
