Editorial : The US gets a 4G phone , India gets the iPhone 3GS on a 2.5G Network. Who is to blame ?

Our friends in US are pre-ordering a 4G / WiMax Phone – the HTC EVO 4G.  In India , we still don’t have widespread 3G coverage. 3G services are being offered by only BSNL and MTNL currently and auctions for private players are hopefully starting in April.

Many users in India are already carrying a 3G capable device thanks to handset makers  like Nokia and the likes. But most of those users cannot use the 3G feature on the phone here. It’s simply irrelevant. Adding insult to injury is the launch of the iPhone 3GS on the nation’s largest GSM operator Airtel who has a 2.5G or 2.75G network. Knocking Live Video App makes cross platform phone-to-phone Video Streaming a reality

Remember we told you about the Knocking Live Photo sharing app for iPhone which lets you beam photos to your friends iPhone or iPod touch. The Knocking Live app was first rejected on the Apple App store but then Steve Jobs personally OKed the app and it has been creating a lot of buzz since then.

Samsung Wave is the World’s First DivX HD Certified Mobile Phone

Samsung Wave will be world’s first  DivX HD certified mobile phone according to a press release from CTIA.

The display on the phone (SuperAMOLED ) already rocks and watching videos is a treat. Get ready to watch DivX HD Videos on the Wave soon as it is expected to be launched soon and even the price has been revealed

HTC SuperSonic on Sprint is real !

HTC Supersonic is most likely to be announced in the next few minutes. Noah from Phonedog just tweeted that he saw the phone in someone’s hands outside the Sprint event in CTIA

Samsung Galaxy S i9000 Full Specifications

JK Shin, president and head of Samsung Electronics’ Mobile Communications Business announced the global launch of the  Galaxy S (Model: GT-I9000)  at his keynote speech at CTIA Wireless 2010. The Galaxy S will be sold in Europe, North America, Latin America, Australia, and Asia this year. This handset is powered by a 4 inch super AMOLED display and Android 2.1 and uses a 1 GHz CPU. Samsung announces Galaxy S at CTIA

Samsung’s JK Shin announced the Galaxy S at CTIA just now . It’s expected to be available worldwide. Looks like it’s a Android based phone with a Super AMOLED Display

The phone features a stunning 4-inch SUPER AMOLED display , runs on Android and is powered by a 1 GHz processor.

Other goodies include Samsung Social Hun , Content Ecosytem and inbuilt GPS receiver with 3D Maps

Opera Mini for iPhone submitted to Apple App Store for Approval , Video Inside

We told you that Opera was going to showcase Opera Mini 5 for iPhone during CTIA 2010. Now the Norwegian company has just submitted the App to the Apple App Store for Approval. It has also shared a fresh video of the opera mini app in action on a iPhone.
