Samsung has launched Samsung TV Plus, a service which offers consumers of Samsung Smart televisions free TV content, with ad-supported select live channels and on-demand videos, with no additional device such as a set-top box. ZTE at its event introduced new S30 series of smartphones that includes S30 Pro, S30 and S30 SE. These look similar with a centre punch-hole screen, however, in the camera area, the two higher-end models use a combination of matte and glossy finish. POCO just launched the POCO X3 Pro, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone as it had promised. It packs a 6.67-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with 3.8mm, punch-hole screen, 120Hz refresh rate with Dynamic switching between 120Hz, 90Hz, 60Hz or 50Hz and has 240Hz touch sampling rate, same as the X3, but comes with Corning Gorilla 6 protection. It is the first phone to be powered by Snapdragon 860 SoC that is clocked up to 2.96GHz, but it doesn’t have 5G support. The phone has up to 8GB of RAM, comes with liquid cooling 1.0 Plus with copper heat pipe and dual graphite to reduce the temperature by up to 6° C, and runs Android 11 with MIUI 12 on top.
At its mega launch event, Xiaomi also unveiled AX9000, the company’s new top-end Wi-Fi 6 router after it introduced the AX6000 model last year. It supports up to 9000Mbps combined wireless transmission speed, maximum theoretical download speed can reach 3.5Gbps, and a 5GHz frequency band can be completely reserved for e-sports use, avoiding bandwidth competition with other applications. This is powered by Qualcomm’s 6-core processor, and has 12 high-gain antennas (three on each side of the four-sided triangle) and 12 independent signal amplifiers. At its global event, Xiaomi introduced the Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro features 1080p (1920 x 1080) FHD picture quality with an adjustable 60” to 120’’ screen size. It has a 0.47” DMD chip to reach a maximum brightness of 1300 ANSI lumens, has HDR10 support, comes with 10W built-in speakers with dual tweeters and dual full-range woofers, DTS-HD and Dolby Audio. The projector can also be used as a standalone speaker by enabling seamless connection to an audio source via Bluetooth.
