ICICI Bank has partnered with Tech Mahindra Limited has launched Tap n Pay, contact-less payment service with Near Field Communications (NFC) technology. This lets anyone make payments without cash using NFC enabled tag or mobile phone at shops. Uber has announced increase in fares across all its services that includes, uberBlack, uberX and its cheapest uberGO across India. This price hike is due to service tax implemented by Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley in the recent Union Budget for web based software application and a communication device allowing customer to connect with persons providing service of a particular kind under the brand name or trade name. Service tax will be levied on the total fare and not just the commission being earned by the aggregators for every ride, he had said in the budget. Motorola launched the Moto E (2nd Gen) 4G last week in India priced at Rs. 7,999, it is now available for sale on Flipkart. The second generation Moto E with 4G is powered by a faster 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor. Xiaomi recently partnered with GreenDust and Overcart to sell refurbished and unboxed Redmi 1S smartphones. Unboxed Redmi 1S units went on sale last week on Overcart. Today Overcart has announced that it is bringing the Redmi Note 4G smartphone next week. Refurbished and Unboxed Redmi Note 4G units will be available for Rs. 7,999 and Rs. 8,499, respectively. The devices will be covered under a six-month manufacturer warranty from Xiaomi, says the company. Sony has announced the Xperia Z4, the company’s latest flagship at an event in Japan. It has the same 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Triluminos Display similar to the Z3, but this is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 processor. OnePlus launched its 10,000mAh OnePlus Power Bank back in December last year and it went on sale in the U.S. though the official online store last month. OnePlus already said that the power bank will launch in India in April and they were are working on logistics process. WhatsApp continues to increase its active user base. It reached 700 million monthly active users back in January earlier this year. Today the company’s CEO and founder Jan Koum revealed that WhatsApp now has 800 million monthly active users worldwide, adding 100 million users in just 3 months, faster than last time. It took 4 months to reach 700 million active users from 600 million.
