SDC 21: Samsung announces Tizen OS improvements, opening it up for other TV brands

Samsung held their Samsung Developer Conference 2021 (SDC21) yesterday, where they announced a number of new software products across their ecosystem. Samsung’s SmartThings platform will soon be completely integrated with Matter standard, Bixby will be capable of on-device command processing and Samsung’s Tizen software will soon be available on more devices.

Twitter reports $1.28 billion in revenue in Q3 2021, 211 million monetizable DAUs, up 13% YoY

Social media giant Twitter has released their earnings report for Q3 2021, which records an earnings of $1.28 billion in revenue, and a 13% YoY growth in Monetizable Daily Active Usage (mDAU). As part of the total revenue, Advertising revenue contributed $1.18 billion, while Data licensing and other revenue totaled $143 million.

Alphabet records $65.1 billion in revenue during Q3 2021, grows 41% YoY

Alphabet, the parent company of Google and YouTube, has released their earnings report for the third quarter of 2021. According to it, the company earned $65.1 billion in revenue, which calculates to a YoY growth of 41%. The company had a net income of $18.93 billion, an operating income of $21 billion and its diluted Earnings Per Share was reported to be $27.99.

Samsung has unveiled three additions to their Galaxy Book lineup, namely the Galaxy Book, Galaxy Book Odyssey, and Galaxy Book Pro 360 5G. These new laptops feature 11th Generation Intel Core CPUs with optional discrete NVIDIA RTX GPUs, offer improved displays with touchscreen options, and run Windows 11 out-of-the-box. Samsung introduced the Galaxy Book Go series powered by ARM-based Qualcomm Snapdragon processors back in June.

Apple said to release new MacBook Air with white bezels, new colours in 2022

Google reduces fee for subscriptions on Google Play from 30 to 15%
