LG’s In-Vehicle Entertainment System to be featured in 2022 Renault Mégane E-TECH Electric SUV


During their IAA MOBILITY 2021 event, LG Electronics has announced that their next generation In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) system will be featured in the upcoming 2022 Renault Mégane E-TECH Electric SUV. The IVI system which is based on the Google Android Automotive, will utilizes LG’s Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), and provide a wide variety of infotainment features.

LG’s new In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) system will be the first system based on Android 10 to receive certification from Google Automotive Services (GAS). Through the car’s Center Information Display (CID) can display a wide variety of information from various Google apps, such as the Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play.

The software will have an intuitive Human Machine Interface (HMI), and it will run independently from the vehicle’s hardware, providing a variety of features such as OTA updates and the ability to remotely check the vehicle’s charging status.

As mentioned above, the 2022 Renault Mégane E-TECH Electric SUV will be the first vehicle to support LG’s IVI system. The car is also one of the first to make use of Qualcomm’s 3rd Generation Snapdragon Automotive Cockpit Platform, which was announced in September 2021.
