The cross platform messenger service Kik today launched its Symbian and updated Windows Phone apps at the Nokia World conference in London. The messenger competes with the likes of WhatsApp and is also available on iOS , Android and Blackberry platforms. With the new Symbian app Kik Messenger users should be able to communicate regardless of platform of choice.

Looks like BlackBerry wants to be part of the sub-Rs.10000($220) segment in India as the price of the most affordable BlackBerry – the Curve 8520 has dropped to Rs.9990. The device was earlier available for Rs.11-12,000. The handset also comes with a 18 month warranty while most brands offer only 12 months. The BlackBerry Curve 8530 has been launched by RIM and Tata Indicom in India and it’s the first CDMA phone in India with an optical Track pad and built in Wi-Fi. The BlackBerry Curve 8530 is a CDMA version of the hugely popular 8520 Curve which was available on Airtel previously. Yesterday, we brought to you news about the announcement of the Blackberry Curve 8520. It is the first Blackberry device to support Mac syncing right out of the box. A major feature it lacks is 3G. The handset is expected to be released on 5th August at T-Mobile stores.
