Back in December last year HP launched three tablets in the US, including the HP Slate7 Plus at a price tag of $149.99. Now the company has launched HP 7 Plus, a WiFi-only tablet in the US at even cheaper price tag of just $99.99 (Rs. 5875 approx.). It has a 7-inch  (1024 × 600 pixels) multi touch LED-backlit IPS display, powered by a 1 GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 7.9-inch (2048 × 1536 pixels) display at 326 ppi, manufactured by Sharp / AUO and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, powered by a 2.2 GHz NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor with 192-core Kepler GPU and runs on Android-based MiUI ROM optimized for tablets. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with 5-element lens, Sony BSI sensor, f/2.0 aperture and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with OmniVision sensor and f/2.0 aperture. Samsung Galaxy Tab S new images surface, could be announced in June

Rumors about Samsung launching new series of tablets had already surfaced online earlier this month. Today, photos of the device has been spotted recently at the FCC. The new images show the same tablet seen in the images that surfaced last week that suggests a 10.5 inch AMOLED screen.

LG has just announced trio of tablets, G Pad 7.0, G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1 in the G Pad series. The company unveiled the G Pad 8.3 back in September last year and its Google Play Edition in December. As you can see, these have new UX, expected to be introduced with the LG G3 later this month. These tablet also have Q Pair 2.0 to connect them with smartphones using Bluetooth to get notifications and Knock Code personalized lock screen. Worldwide tablet market posts just 3.9% growth YoY in Q1 2014, down 35.7% QoQ

Samsung and Apple are still the leading tablet vendors by shipments in Q1 2014, according to preliminary data from research firm IDC (International Data Corporation). The worldwide tablet market grew just 3.9% year-over-year in Q1 2014, with shipments of 50.4 million units in the quarter, down 35.7% compared to last quarter. Yesterday IDC reported worldwide smartphone shipments that was down just 2.8% compared to the holiday quarter. According to the website, it would come with a 7-inch (1280 × 800 pixels) HD display, powered by a 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 with PowerVR SGX544 GPU and runs on Android Jelly Bean OS.

Japan Display now shipping samples of 10.1 4K displays

Japan Display is one of leading producers of smartphone displays and the Japanese company has now started shipping the samples of its 10.1inch 4K displays. The 10.1inch LCD display has a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels ( 3840 – horizontal and 2160 – vertical) and the display is being called 4K2K display. We are yet to see 4K TVs become mainstream, but the 4K fever has already started catching on to the tablet industry.

It has a SIM slot and supports 3G connectivity. Samsung launched the 7-inch and 8-inch variants last year and introduced buyback offers for these tablets recently.
