HUAWEI has launched the MatePad Edge 2-in-1 tablet lineup in China, featuring a hybrid design that combines mobile tablet use with a desktop-style workstation. The series is available in Soft Light Edition and Liquid Cooling Edition, alongside the Starry Leap Floating Keyboard and M-Pencil Pro accessories.
The tablet uses an aluminum alloy body with an integrated stand, supported by a distributed hinge structure for stable hands-free positioning. Combined with the floating keyboard and mouse, it can switch from tablet mode to a desktop-style layout for office, design, or editing workflows.
The 14.2-inch flexible OLED display has a resolution of 3120 × 2080 (3.1K), supports the P3 wide color gamut and 1.07 billion colors, offers 1000 nits peak brightness, Delta E < 1 color accuracy, and a 94% screen-to-body ratio with uniform 4.1 mm bezels. The Soft Light Edition uses PaperMate Display technology to reduce glare and improve visual comfort.
The tablet features a 32MP front camera integrated within the bezel using floating CMOS packaging, and a rear setup with a 50MP main sensor, 8MP wide-angle macro camera, and single LED flash. Power is supplied by a 12,900mAh battery supporting 140W SuperCharge and 40W reverse charging.
The Liquid Cooling Edition is powered by the Kirin X90, while the Soft Light Edition and standard model use the Kirin X90A. It offers:
- Performance mode, which improves speed across office apps, creative tools, and gaming, with gameplay reaching up to 2K/120 fps.
- The Liquid Cooling Edition includes a thermal system with dual aluminum alloy fans, dot-matrix vents, full-length exhaust, dual vapor chambers, dual micro-pumps, liquid cooling layer, and graphene sheet, providing up to 28W heat dissipation.
Additional specifications include HUAWEI Mobile Spatial Audio, YueSound acoustics with ruby dynamic drivers and large resonant chambers, Wi-Fi 7 with AI antenna, StarFlash wireless, and Bluetooth 5.2. Audio is delivered via a stereo 6-speaker setup powered by HUAWEI SOUND.

The keyboard has a pressure-sensitive touchpad with adjustable haptic feedback, 1.8 mm key travel, and a laptop-style layout. Its floating design supports 85°–175° viewing angles. A concealed stylus slot enables automatic charging. The keyboard connects magnetically with a metal frame and adds a 65W USB-C charging port (power only), freeing the tablet’s main port for data.
HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro
The stylus features a gravity-responsive fluid brush engine with tilt-based pigment diffusion. Multiple pen tips support writing, sketching, and note-taking. Hover preview and vibration feedback assist precision. It connects via StarFlash wireless for low latency, charges magnetically, and includes a lost-tracking system covering up to 50 meters.
