Nokia bringing ARM-based smartbook in 2010 ?

You all might have seen and drolled over the Nokia Booklet 3G which marked the handset maker’s entry into the netbook / laptop business. Now Nokia is reportedly bringing a ARM-Based Smartbook in 2010 according to Taiwan-based handset makers. So what is a smartbook – A smartbook, blend of the words smartphone and netbook, is a mobile device that falls between smartphones and netbooks, delivering features typically found in smartphones (always on, all-day battery life, 3G connectivity,GPS) in a slightly larger device with a full keyboard. Samsung i8320 Leaked!

Well here is something good for you Linux fans out there. Nokia recently leaked their Nokia N900/RX-51 Rover which runs on the Maemo (Linux) Platform.

Nokia Rover (RX-51)/N900 Pictures and Specifications!

Earlier we brought to you some information and lots of pictures of the Nokia Rover (RX-51) Internet Tablet.

This time we bring you lots of pictures again but with lot more of information. Eldar Murtazin and his team over at Mobile Review have managed to get their hands on the Nokia Rover (RX-51) which will be commonly known as the Nokia N900. Its is the direct successor to the N810 and successor to the N800 and 770 Internet Tablets.

Here are some of the features of the Nokia N900 confirmed by Eldar:

  • ARM Cortex-A8 CPU
  • 5 Megapixel Camera with Autofocs, Dual LED flash and lens cover
  • Maemo Linux OS
  • 32GB Internal Memory, Hot Swap micro-SD Card Slot upto 32GB
  • 1320maH BL-5J Battery
  • micro-USB port, 3.5mm Jack
  • TV-Out, Kickstand

This is just a preview of what Nokia is going to announce at Nokia World on September 2-3. Another important thing is that there are rumors that Nokia has decided to change it’s platform from Symbian S60 to Maemo (Linux Based). But Nokia has confirmed its love story with Symbian will continue. Maemo is just being offered as another offering .

HTC Leo which is the next HTC flagship phone running on Windows Mobile 6.5 has been leaked. It is a feature packed smartphone and the rightful flagship of HTC series.

The features of HTC Leo are:

Nokia N97 Mini gets clicked at with the N97

Rumors of an N97 Mini gained traction on Wednesday with images that may represent the device. These pics were hosted up on http://www.symbianfrance.com/2009/07/29/nokia-n97-mini-photos-et-specifications/ but got taken down.

The Blog Post said (French to English Translation) :

“You had already mentioned a few weeks of persistent rumors of a Nokia N97 mini. We friends of the blog N97 have a nice scoop out today by offering the first pictures of the mini N97.
At this level it is certainly a rumor but I dare not doubt the veracity of these pictures. I am however very surprised by the small difference in specifications between the 2 devices. At this level only the screen size (302 against 3.5 inches) and memory (8Gb against 32GB) seem to differentiate the 2 devices. The keyboard is different, the pad of the N97, which is very practical-is replaced by 4 keys guidelines.
So, hot I almost want to say that is there in N97?

Samsung to Release NVIDIA Tegra Phone

A Samsung representative confirmed that Samsung is working on a phone equipped with NVIDIA’s Tegra Processor. Last month, NVIDIA said that a phone equipped with the Tegra processor would be released on AT&T ir T-Mobile costing around 199$. So now it’s almost sure that the phone will be a Samsung. Blackberry Storm 2 (9550) Video Leaked!

A video of the Blackberry Storm 2 (9550) codenamed Blackberry Odin has been leaked. The phone in the video is an early prototype. The prototype doesn’t have Wi-Fi but the final version of the phone will definitely have Wi-Fi. Physically the Storm 2 is almost identical to the Storm but it has some physical changes which make it better and easier to use. The Storm 2 feels nicer in hand.

The prototype is also running the same firmware as the Storm but it is said to have a newer and improved firmware.

The release date for the Leo is not known. the handset might also be released under a different name as Leo could just be a codename.
