Intel’s roadmap suggests new smartphone and tablet chips coming during MWC 2014

Intel is the company everybody knew because of processors that still power the everyday PCs and laptops. But the sales of PCs and laptops has been outdone by the sales of smartphones and tablets. People are moving on and portable devices are the new thing. Intel has been producing chips for the smartphones and tablets, but it hasn’t earned much of a consideration from the manufacturers who seem to be more than content with ARM based SoCs. Intel has to fight hard to survive this battle and looks like they are having another go at the smartphone and tablet market in the upcoming MWC 2014.

HTC Desire 8, the company’s upcoming mid-range desire smartphone leaked last week along with specifications. As you can see from the official image with the invite, HTC has confirmed on Weibo that it would be officially unveiled on February 24th in China. Earlier leak revealed that the phone would come with a 5.5-inch display and a 13-megapixel rear camera. New leak popular HTC developer llabtoofer reveals the complete specifications of the smartphone, but the battery capacity is not available yet. This reveals a new Android 4.4 KitKat UI with a new wallpaper. You can also see the huge bezel. A new twitter user GadgetLeaks has posted more images of the tablet that shows off the new White colored variant and magnetic charging pins on the bottom. Airtel reportedly plans to acquire Loop Mobile for Rs. 700 crore

Bharti Airtel is all set to acquire Loop Mobile, according to a recent report from The Economic Times. Airtel would acquire Loop Mobile in a Rs. 700-crore deal, which is expected to be announced later this week, the report adds. Loop Mobile was previously called BPL Mobile when it started its operations in 1995 BPL Mobile and was renamed as Loop Mobile in 2009. Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet specifications leaked: Snapdragon 800, Android 4.4 KitKat and 3GB RAM

Last year Sony launched the Xperia Tablet Z, the company’s first 10-inch waterproof tablet. evleaks has just leaked the specifications of the Xperia Z2 Tablet ahead of MWC 2014. The successor would have the same 10.1-inch HD (1920 x 1200 pixels) WUXGA display, but this would be powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor instead of Snapdragon S4 Pro chip. BlackBerry recently announced that it would partner with Foxconn to produce affordable BlackBerry 10 devices. According to the new leak from the BBin, the BlackBerry Z3 Jakarta would have a 5-inch qHD screen, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and come with 1.5 GB of RAM. It would come with a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 1.1-megapixel front-facing camera. Sony Xperia G with 4.8-inch display images, specifications leak

Sony unveiled the Xperia T2 Ultra, a mid-range phablet along with its dual SIM variant, the Xperia T2 Ultra Dual recently. Earlier this week alleged images of the Xperia G, an upcoming mid-range smartphone appeared on Twitter. This comes from ViziLeaks, popular for leaking the live image of Lumia 1020 last year. Yesterday, another image that shows the back of the phone appeared online along with specifications.

BlackBerry smartphone powered by 64-bit Octa-Core chip rumored to arrive in September

BlackBerry would launch a smartphone powered by a 64-bit Octa-Core chip, according to a recent report from the pocket-lint. Samsung launched the Galaxy S4 which was the Exynos 5410, its first Octa-Core chip with fours Cortex A15 chips and four Cortex A7 chips. Later it released an upgraded Exynos 5420 on the Note 3. Recent rumors from N4BB revealed that the BlackBerry phone would run on the upcoming Snapdragon 810 (MSM8994) chip. HTC Desire 8 with 5.5-inch display, 13MP camera leaks

HTC Desire 8, the company’s upcoming mid-range smartphone has leaked. This smartphone destined for China has a 5.5-inch screen (resolution is not available yet), has dual SIM support and packs a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. Even though it has a 13MP rear camera, it doesn’t have Ultrapixel technology like the HTC One series. It also has dual front-facing speakers and is likely to come with on-screen touch buttons, eliminating the capactive touch buttons. Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 to be priced reasonably

Samsung launched their first smart watch – Samsung Galaxy Gear back in IFA 2013 alongside their current flagship – Galaxy Note 3. A couple of weeks remain for MWC 2014 and there are clear indications that Samsung will unveil their next generation Galaxy S series flagship – Galaxy S5 at MWC 2014. Apart from the obvious fact, Samsung is also rumored to be launching their next version of smart watch – Galaxy Gear 2 at MWC 2014.

HTC rumored to be manufacturing a Nexus tablet

HTC, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer, is facing a lot of heat and competition from other companies in the Android smartphone market and so they may have set their eyes on the tablet market “again”. HTC had previously entered the tablet market and met with little success with two of its tablets – HTC Flyer and HTC JetStream. According to rumors, HTC is all set to make a return into the tablet market with the next generation Nexus tablets.
