Google rumored to be working on a 8.9inch Nexus tablet

Google has been targeting audience with great products at affordable products through their Nexus line up. The smartphones – Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 are an example of that. Each of the device offers the best in class performance for a considerably affordable price point. They did the similar thing with the tablets as well – Google Nexus 7 and Nexus 7 2013 – offering great features for an affordable price. It looks like things could change.

Samsung Gear 2 variant with SIM card slot for voice calls reportedly in the works

Samsung is planning to launch a variant of its Gear 2 smartwatch capable of making voice calls without connecting to a smartphone, according to a report from Korean Herald. Samsung plans to release the new version of the Gear 2 in Korea in partnership with the local operator SK Telecom. This would have a built-in SIM card or USIM (Universal Subscriber Identity Module) to use it as a standalone mobile device. HTC Desire 516 leaked online

HTC has not yet launched its flagship device of this year, but we know it is just a week away before it launches the all new HTC One. In the meantime, HTC is also preparing a midrange Desire series smartphone. HTC had introduced the Desire 816 at MWC 2014 earlier this year and now plans to unveil the Desire 516.

Amazon rumored to be shipping a video streaming device in April

Streaming devices are becoming a thing as Roku’s streaming stick and Google’s Chromecast have seen considerable success. It looks like Amazon could enter the streaming market with a dongle just like the aforementioned units. Amazon is rumored to be shipping this video streaming capable unit through its online stores as well as through retail outlets like BestBuy and Staples.

Apple is rumored to be entering the personal health and fitness tracking segment with the upcoming iPhone and/or supposed iWatch. This is how Whatsapp Calls will supposedly look like

At the MWC 2014 earlier this year, Whatsapp were present and their CEO was just fresh from the 19 billion USD deal with Facebook. At the event, Whatsapp discussed their post Facebook acquisition plans and they also mentioned that they will be introducing VoIP calls in Q2 2014. According to an Italian blog, they were able to get their hands on the latest Whatsapp app with support for voice calls.

Samsung Galaxy Beam successor leaked with a metal build

More than two years ago Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy Beam – an Android smartphone that came with a projector on its top. The Samsung Galaxy Beam featured mid-range specifications at that time and it was not about specs. As the name suggests, Galaxy Beam was about projection. Last year, we did not see a successor to it, but it seems like Samsung is not giving up so easily. The probably Galaxy Beam successor has been spotted in the wild, but with a metal build.

Amazon Game controller for Android-based console surfaces

Earlier this year rumors about Amazon’s gaming console running Android surfaced. Today, Dave Zats spotted a gaming controller with Amazon branding at Brazilian cetification website, similar to FCC. It did not have any other details, but we can clearly see a layout, similar to the gaming controllers for Android. Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom leaked, Samsung hasn’t given up on the Galaxy Zoom series

When Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom last year, a lot of folks were confused if it was a camera or a smartphone – apparently, it was both. Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, getting its moniker from the then company flagship, was expected to come with the top of the line specs, but it wasn’t true then. Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom was modest in terms of specifications and came with a 16MP camera on its back along with a 10x optical zoom. The device looked more like a camera than a smartphone.

Oppo Find 7 live shots and retail package surfaces

Oppo is all set to unveil the Find 7, the company’s upcoming smartphones in two variants at an event on March 19th. A webio user has posted images of the Oppo Find 7 HD, the 1080p version of the device. Chinese website Mydrivers has managed to grab these images, before it was removed. Huawei to reportedly launch Android / Windows Phone dual-OS smartphone in Q2 2014

Last month there were reports that Karbonn would launch dual-OS phones running both Android and Windows Phone by June. Huawei would also launch a similar dual-OS device, running both Android and Windows Phone, according to a recent report from TrustedReviews. This smartphone is expected to go on sale in the US in Q2, 2014, said Chief Marketing Officer Shao Yang, in an interview to the website. LG G3 may sport a QHD display

LG has been coming back to the Android territory rather strongly. The LG Optimus G kicked off things for the South Korean manufacturing giant as it was warmly received by people and Google thought that is how their Nexus range should look like and LG came up with LG Nexus 4 and a similar thing happened with the LG G2 as Google’s Nexus 5 takes its cues from the LG G2. LG G2 was announced sometime in August last year, but it looks like LG G3 could see a June launch giving it time before Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Earlier this month Samsung accidentally confirmed the Galaxy Tab 4 series in three variants, 10.1, 8.0 and 7.0. Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 (SM-T530) and Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 (SM-T330) already clear FCC. Recently the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 (SM-T535), the LTE variant of the tablet has passed through FCC, that confirms LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GSM, W-CDMA and Bluetooth connectivity.
