Indian mobile handset market declined 15% in terms of overall shipments in Q1, 2015, as per a latest report from CMR. The report said that out of the total 53 million mobile handsets shipped during the quarter, 37% (19.5 mn) were smartphones.

Honor, the global brand under Huawei announced the Honor 4C smartphone in China last week. Today the company has sent invite for the launch event on May 8th, where it is expected to launch the Honor 4C and Honor Bee smartphones. We already know that Honor 4C has a 5-inch HD display and is powered by 1.2 GHz 64-bit A53 Octa-core Kirin 620 processor. The Honor Bee is a budget smartphone with a 4.5-inch FWVGA screen and a 1.2 GHz quad-core Spreadtrum processor, according to Flipkart listing.

After Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance Communications (RCOM) and Videocon Telecom, Aircel today announced that it has reduced National Roaming tariff by up to 75% and the call rates by 40%. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) reduced ceiling tariffs for national roaming calls and SMS last month. There is no change in the new rates compared to TRAI’s proposed guidelines. Earlier today, we reported that Sony was having trouble supplying its sensors to the Chinese manufacturers due to high demand from Apple for their iPhone 6C. Apparently Chinese manufacturers aren’t the only ones affected as even Samsung has been forced to use its own sensors in place of Sony ones. This has been witnessed on the newer units of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
