NTT Docomo expands inbound LTE roaming to 37 countries, regions

NTT Docomo has expanded its inbound LTE roaming service in Japan for customers from the Azores, Australia, Christmas Island, Greece, Madeira, New Zealand and Portugal. This will enable customers from 37 countries and regions have access to Docomo’s extra-high-speed LTE network (up to 150Mbps), Xi (read crossy) when traveling in Japan beginning December 5. Spice Retail has launched Stellar 520n, an upgraded version of the Spice Stellar 520 that was launched back in July. It has 5-inch HD OGS display, is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat), has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has 8GB of internal storage compared to 4GB of storage in the Stellar 520. It comes pre-loaded with WhatsApp and Opera. YotaPhone 2 with 5-inch 1080p AMOLED and 4.7-inch e-Ink screens launched for 699 Euros

Yota Devices launched the YotaPhone 2 in Russia yesterday. It was officially launched at an event in London few hours back. Originally announced at the MWC earlier this year, the YotaPhone 2 has a a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display, is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a full-touch control on its always-on electronic paper display (EPD) on the other side. The full-touch E Paper screen offers up to 50 hours of battery life when reading on the always-on display. O2 CEO: Three takeover is unlikely

O2’s Chief Executive Officer, Ronan Dunne, has claimed that reports of a takeover of the operator by rival Three UK is unlikely. Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Three could join both BT and Vodafone in eyeing up either EE or O2 for an acquisition but O2’s CEO says that a Three takeover is the least likely of all scenarios. Google releases Android 5.0.1 factory images, pushes AOSP builds

Almost three weeks after releasing the OTA updates and pushing Android 5.0 (Lollipop) factory images, Google has released factory images for Android 5.0.1 for the Nexus 9, Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 (2013) and also pushed the same to AOSP. There is no official changelog for this minor update, but according to a commenter over at the Android Police, this update is to fix a bug that could cause stray input on the lock screen to erase everything on the device. YotaPhone 2 launched in Russia, to go on sale in Europe this week

Yota Devices announced the YotaPhone 2 back in February at the MWC. Last month the company announced that the smartphone would be launched at an event in London on December 3rd. It launched the smartphone at an event in Russia today and it is priced at 32,990 Rubles (US$605 / 490 Euros approx). It is available for purchase from the official online store in Russia. At the event the company’s CEO confirmed to Sputnik that it will go on sale in Europe this week. It will roll out in 20 European countries this year and will go on sale in China and the rest of Asia-Pacific early 2015 with Canada and Latin America later. Vivo is all set to unveil the Vivo X5 Max smartphone at an event in China on December 10th. The main highlight of the smartphone is its 4.75mm slim body, thinner than the 4.85mm Oppo R5, which is currently the world’s slimmest smartphone. The smartphone got certified on TENAA last month. Vodafone Ireland launches 4G+ (LTE Advanced)

Vodafone Ireland has begun rolling out its next-generation 4G+ LTE-Advanced network in Waterford City with further plans to roll out the service in the cities of Cork, Dublin and Limerick by the end of December.
