Cyanogen Inc. and Microsoft Corp. have announced a partnership to integrate several Microsoft apps on its Cyanogen OS later this year. YU has started rolling out Cyanogen OS 12 update based on Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop) for the YU YUREKA smartphone. It was submitted for certification earlier this week and got approved soon. OnePlus One got this update a couple of days back. Cyanogen OS 12 brings highly customized extra theming options that can be applied per application level and paid themes. It also includes CyanogenMail, powered by Boxer with Exchange support, multiple account integration, canned responses for quick replies, select a different LED color for email notifications and more. Google has updated its Drive app for Android that now lets you share files easily from the notification shade. Once you upload a file to Drive you will receive a notification after if finishes. Now it also includes an option to share with other people for faster sharing, instead of opening the Drive app once again to share it. Twitter has redesigned homepage of its web client with aim to lure non-Twitter users.It features topics that point to timelines of tweets from popular Twitter accounts and a prominent search bar that makes suggestions, as well as a way to login.
The new homepage shows curated content streams and this does not require users to sign in to Twitter. The content ranges from various sections like TV Shows and Stars, Cute Animals, Business news, Pop Artists and so on. Once you click one one of those topics, you’ll see a stream of popular tweets within the category. The new homepage also includes a prominent search bar that suggests queries for popular trends and hashtags.
The redesigned page will allow you to check out real time news and conversations even if you do not plan on creating an account. Twitter had announced in November that 125 million users visit the Twitter homepage which is half of its actual user base. The micro blogging site said that the new Twitter.com is first coming to the U.S and will bring it to more users over time.
Xiaomi has introduced special Black Edition of Mi Note smartphone in China. Announced by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun with Chinese famous singer Jason Zhang, the leather box which is handmade has Jason Zhang’s new music album and a special photo album. Xiaomi recently introduced Cherry Pink Mi Note for Women for its 5th anniversary and Special Bamboo Edition of Mi Note last month.
Xiaomi recently announced a temporary price cut of Rs. 2,000 for Mi 4 variant during Mi Fan Festival on April 8th. Today the company has implemented permanent price cut for both the variants of the Mi 4. The 16GB variant is now available for Rs. 17,999, down from the launch price of Rs. 19,999 and the 64GB variant is available for Rs. 21,999, down from the launch price of Rs. 23,999. Xiaomi has released a global beta build of its MIUI 6 ROM for the Redmi 1S smartphone. The company introduced MIUI 6, a major upgrade to MIUI ROM last year, but only few Mi devices such as Mi 4, Mi 3, Redmi Note, Redmi 2 and MiPad run on the stable MIUI 6 ROM. Developer ROMs are available for Mi devices in China, but this is the first time the company is releasing beta version of its ROM for global markets. Lenovo has announced A6000 Plus at the Flipkart office in Bangalore during the live flash sale of its A7000 smartphone. The Lenovo A6000 Plus has a 5-inch HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Vibe UI on top, similar to the Lenovo A6000 that was launched in India earlier this year, but the has RAM and internal storage have been upped to 2GB and 16GB, respectively compared to 1GB and 8GB on the A6000.
