Coolpad has entered India with the launch of Dazen X7, the company’s flagship smartphone for India in the Dazen Brand. It has a 5.2-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, is powered by a 1.7 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek processor and runs on Android 4.4 (Kitkat) with Cool UI 6. Google had initially sold the Project Tango Tablet Development Kit for US$ 1024 to people who received the invite back in April. But now they have slashed the price in half as it now costs just US$ 512 and is available without an invitation.
Lenovo showcased Lenovo Smart Cast, a concept projector smartphone with a built-in laser projector at the Tech World. Compared to pico-projector seen on most of the smartphones, this has laser projector, infrared motion detector and high-performance algorithms to offer a virtual projection. It is the first ever technology combination opens a new world of interaction, said the company.
While the YotaPhone 2 was announced back in February 2014 during MWC, the smartphone was delayed quite a bit and has only recently become available in many markets. In fact the YotaPhone 2 was announced prior to the original YotaPhone was made available worldwide. However it seems that the company is already working on the follow up to the YotaPhone 2 and this time there will be two devices – YotaPhone 3 and YotaPhone 2C.

HTC WF5w, an upcoming mid-range smartphone in the Desire Series has been certified on TENAA (Via) in China. The listing reveals that the smartphone will be 7.49mm thick, which is thinner than the One E9+ that is 7.54mm thick. It coincides with earlier rumors from upleaks that includes, 5.5-inch HD screen, Octa-Core MediaTek SoC and a 13-megapixel rear camera, but the listing shows a 13-megapixel front-facing camera, compared to 5-megapixel camera based on earlier leak. Oculus has acquired 3D mapping company Surreal Vision for an undisclosed sum. Surreal will bring its “real-time 3D scene reconstruction” technology to Oculus, as a result of the acquisition.
