Facebook launched Messenger Lite app for Android for emerging markets such as Kenya, Tunisia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Venezuela back in October last year. Huawei’s Honor brand launched its flagship Honor 8 Pro smartphone in India last week. It went on sale through Amazon.in during Prime Day sale along with offers. From tomorrow, July 13th, the phone will be available through open sale exclusively from Amazon.in. Honor said that it will be available with no cost EMI for a period of 3, 6, 9 or 12 months via Bajaj Finserv. Vodafone offers 45GB data for five months. These offers would be available for purchases made during July 13, 2017 to July 31, 2017.

Logitech today announced that it has agreed to acquire ASTRO Gaming, popular for its headsets for professional gamers and enthusiasts for US$85 million in cash. It will be joining Logitech G, its gaming division. The company acquired Jaybird back in April last year for $50 million. Facebook has started rolling out ads for Messenger globally after testing ads for Australia and Thailand. The social network is now expanding beta test of home screen Messenger ads worldwide. Messenger ads will be targeted to specific users similar to those we see on Instagram and Facebook.

Vizio has sued LeEco over failed merger between two companies. The U.S. based television maker is seeking $60 million in damages, claiming LeEco paid only $40 million of a $100 million termination fee.

Details about the second-generation Pixel XL smartphone condenamed Taimen surfaced last month, and the specifications of the phone surfaced a few weeks back, now the first render of the new Pixel XL has surfaced, thanks to Android Police. Reliance Jio started testing JioFiber last year. When it reported earnings back in April, it said that it started roll-out of its Fibre to the Home (FTTH) business by offering beta trials in a few locations. It also said that it will expand the scope of the beta trials over the next few months. In May it even confirmed that beta trials are being rolled out in select areas of Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Ahmedabad, Jamnagar, Surat and Vadodara.
