OPPO R17 Pro with 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 710, 8GB RAM, in-display fingerprint sensor launching in India on December 4

After teasers, OPPO today confirmed that it will launch the R17 Pro smartphone in India on December 4th, and will start taking pre-orders from December 1st. It was introduced back in August and packs a 6.4-inch Full HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio AMOLED display with a notch, 91.5% screen-to-body ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection an in-display fingerprint sensor that can unlock the phone in 0.41 seconds. It runs ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo) and has a 25-megapixel AI front camera and is powered by Snapdragon 710 SoC with 8GB RAM.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro 6.39-inch QHD+ OLED HDR display, Leica Triple rear cameras, in-display fingerprint sensor launching in India on November 27

Update – November 21: Huawei has confirmed that it will launch its flagship Mate 20 Pro smartphone in India on November 27th. According to the teaser, it looks like it will be selling the phone and Sennheiser PXC550 Wireless Headphones bundle. It already said that the phone will be launched exclusively on Amazon.in.

Google Duplex finally starts rolling out to Pixel phones

After being introduced at the I/O 2018, Google’s Duplex is finally making its way to Pixel phones. Using Google Duplex, Assistant can now book appointments, make reservations and more. These actions usually require user physical action to pick up the phone and call the business to get things done, but Google Assistant will now take the job of going through all this behind the screen for you. Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro with 6.26-inch 19:9 FHD+ display, dual front and rear cameras launched in India starting at Rs. 13999

Xiaomi just launched the Redmi Note 6 Pro, successor of the Redmi Note Note 5 Pro in India, as it had promised. The major change is the 6.26-inch Full HD+ screen with a notch, 19:9 aspect ratio and dual front cameras, in addition to dual rear cameras, and the primary 12-megapixel camera now has f/1.9 aperture and 1.4μm pixel size for better low-light images. Both these have AI features including AI portrait and AI scene recognition. The rear camera can recognize scenes in 32 categories, including 5 which are India specific, and the front camera can detect 12 categories. ASUS has sent out invites for the launch of ROG Phone, the company’s first gaming smartphone in India on November 29th. It was introduced back in June and comes with a 6-inch Full HD+ AMOLED HDR 90Hz, 1ms response time AMOLED display with DCIP3 gamut with Gaming HDR and Mobile HDR supported by dedicate hardware display chip, is powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC that is clocked up to 2.96GHz with 8GB RAM.
